HA! That could be! The ad if I remember correctly was for his model kit range, before he did the life-size models of Leonardo, Peck's rex, etc. This was quite awhile ago. I was annoyed, but if my money wasn't green enough for him, whatever. Jon, Shane, Galileo, & Sean Cooper make a better product anyway,IMHO.

Speaking of galileo (geenemodels) i have 4 kits from him. But my last 2 orders for the Sphenacodon and Euparkeria have gone unfilled. One was on Ebay and the other from his website. After a month or so I emailed and got no response. Did get my money back. Too bad.

Yeah, I emailed him about the availability of a few models and never heard back. Glad I didnt order from him recently, but also very regretful that I did not order from him months ago when he was still responding to people.

I just talked with him via e-mail a week ago about the Sarcosuchus he's making for me. Sometimes he gets back with you right away, and other times it may be awhile, but he's there.

I emailed Galileo via his website one more time and he replied immediately! He has the Erhythrosuchus and Euparkeria in stock so I've ordered again. He will ship next week. Have my fingers crossed.

Too bad about the CM studio issues. I've always coveted that Tenontosaurus & Deinonychus kit: As for Galileo, add me to the list of disappointed clients. I had luck with him on a previous purchase, but, after several promises from him, never received a Xmas gift from him that my wife purchased (Gorgo vs. Chasmo) - she had to file a dispute to get her $ back. Too bad, he makes some amazing figures, but if he can't deliver, they are no more than enticing pictures on a website.

Yeah, I mean. I have to be honest. A lot of the CM kits I find oddly proportioned/postured (eg. the Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Daspletosaurus) but I was really impressed by the Tyrannosaurus Rex Running Pair. It's a shame the customer service is so bad. But I guess, at least, no one has ever actually been robbed of their money by CM studios.
As for Galileo, I've always wanted to pick up his Allosaurus vs Barosaurus kit. What has always held me back is the fact that he lives in Mexico. I have heard many horror stories of shipments originating from there. Maybe I'll pick something up if he does move to LA.

Trust me, as I'm getting burned right now, for a great deal of money. Doesn't look like I'll be able to do much about it either.

Sorry you got taken Jeremy. Did you buy with paypal? If so, you can file a claim and recover your money if you do so soon enough. That's how we got ours back.

The fact that he's changed his PayPal account, leads me to believe I'll get the shaft on this deal. Save yourself some grief, and buy one of the great kits from Shane Foulkes,David Silva Jon Rader, David Krentz, etc. I've only had good experiences with these guys.

Hmm...maybe we ought to create a thread for seller feedback. It would force sellers to actually care about customer service since the buyers' experiences would not simply be forgotten and untold. It would also help out sellers that provide excellent customer service. I think any kind of business deal should have a feedback system in order to enforce some sort of accountability especially with dealings that are done through forums where there is no guaranteed security as with eBay or other online shopping sites. Most of these kits aren't cheap (despite what CM might think) and buyers need some sort of protection. I, for one, never knew there were so many problems purchasing from Galileo or CM studios. Had I known, I probably would have reconsidered buying from the latter...sigh

Yeah, but it's a bit of a mess though and there's no summary feedback for sellers like Shane Foulkes, David Krentz, etc. Problem is I don't know how we could possibly organize this information to make it clear like the star system on eBay... It's a bit of a hassle having to read through all the posts just to find out if a certain seller is honest or not.

Perhaps we need a separate board altogether for feedback of that kind. I know from a model horse collector forum I'm a member of where such a system is employed. A new thread is started for each member and the feedback for them is left in the comments. That way we'd be able to refer directly to whichever member we're looking for.
Would this idea sound feasible to Dr Admin at all?

That's what I was actually just thinking about. I think that would make it a lot simpler to get an overall summary of a seller's performance!

and you can add my name to the list who lost money trying to purchase from galileo, and from jon rader too. Well, I know about Galileo's recent troubles with customer services, but problems with Jon Rader? Do you mean to say that Jon has been late in delivering an order? That I can believe, given what his crazy schedule has been the past few years. But "lost money" from Jon Rader? As in not returned if you asked for it? That I have a real hard time believing. Jon is as stand up a fellow as there is. I can't believe he wouldn't give you a refund if you asked for it. A few more details would be appreciated ...
