The head is neat but the body looks...dorsal-ventrally compressed? It almost appears too lightly built for a 20-foot terrestrial crocodile.

The head is neat but the body looks...dorsal-ventrally compressed? It almost appears too lightly built for a 20-foot terrestrial crocodile. There are a couple of important things to remember about this guy, and I have a confession to make. The body is almost totally made up. Unfortunately, the only thing found of Kaprosuchus was its skull, so I have restored the body after what is known of its closest relative, Mahajangasuchus. The body isn't that flat, it's pretty round when you see it in person, as most of the terrestrial crocs were. I wouldn't normally sculpt something that doesn't have anything known from its post-cranial skeleton, but it was such a cool skull that I wanted to sculpt it! -Jon

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I imagine that it will be ready to go in a month or so. I'll keep everyone informed, but you can also keep an eye on my website, as I will post the model as soon as it's available for order. Shipping details have yet to be finalized, but whatever ends up happeneing with that, I will make sure that the castings ship in a timely fashion.

All we gotta wait for now is for that sarcosuchus kit.
Love the pose on that one, lunging out of the water after its prey =D
I gotta have that!
