Hey all. I must have posted this before, but I ran across it and thought I'd keep my posts alive by throwing it out there again. Honestly, it's probably going on 3 years old and is the last of my "serious" drawings. I still like it and would love to start drawing again. In fact, I'm going to use it as somewhat of a reference for improvement. By this I mean I'm going to improve on my new drawings what I think is lacking in this one... like surface detail. How do y'all like it?

Very nice! The detail on the head and neck is excellent!

Very nice, but the arms and feet are too big.

I think it looks great! The pose is really simple but very natural looking, and I love the head

Hey, nice to "see" you! I also think it looks very nice. And you say it's 3 years old? Man, you were drawing like that in your early teens?? That even makes it better! And T, you should have entered this in your drawing contest (if you had done it by then). I remembered you shied away from entering something. Then again, I would probably feel the same way today with all these wonderful professional artists on here now, hehe! Anyway, yes, keep up the great work and keep challenging yourself. You definitely have a very good beginning point here with this one.

Weren't you sculpting a T-rex or something? I remember it really looked good. Did you ever finish it?

You definitely have a very good beginning point here with this one. I appreciate it Meso. At this point, my real obstacle is knowing how to properly apply surface details! I've struggled with that for years. No stoneage, I didn't unfortunately. I lost confidence as I went along with the sculpture because I didn't foresee how on earth I was going to construct proper fenestra, scale varieties, and other small details without losing my "mentally acceptable standard of accuracy" (Which is the best wording I can come up with!) Working on a such a small scale with the constant realization that I was going to have to make the opposite side symmetrical somewhat pushed me away from completing it.

I really think it would have been cool! You shouldn't let the fact that it wouldn't be perfect stop you. I mean how many models really are?

I shouldn't have been worried about that. I'd love to start again, but I think I'll finish off my senior year first before worrying about that. Thanks for the boost of confidence though.
