Figures lost

I had know idea if i should of started this here, or in the Dino toys section.

anyway, is there a figure that you lost that you wish you didn't? I had a WWD Postosuchus when i was a little kid. and i have know clue what happened to it since then. And seeing how special they are,i get a time machine to go back and search for it.

anyone else with a tail of a lost figure that you wish wasn't lost? If so this is the thread to say it in .

How about a tale of a lost and found figure? As a kid, my favorite dinosaur toy was the carnegie apatosaurus baby. One day I was out playing with him about a quarter mile from home, and I lost him. The area where I lived was prone to yearly flooding (we lived next to a river), and later that year the entire area was flooded. I forgot about him after that, giving him up for completely lost. Probably a good 2 years later, or more, our old family dog came home with something in her mouth. She gave it to me, and it was my lost apato! Last year I went home to visit my parents, dug him out of my toy box, and brought him back to Oregon with me. He is a permanent resident in my collection now

AH, well two years ago i had a huge amount of dinosaurs but they were chinosaurs. I had a little box with small marine reptile toys in it, mostly ones from Panini and other chinosaur companies and the wai fong liopleurodon. It was my first and only liopleurodon toy for a while. I don't no when but i completely lost it. I haven't seen it ever since i started real collecting. I have now stopped looking for it and trying to find one in shops or online.

I had a green one.

One of the nicest things is recovering that which was lost..even if you didn't know it was.

I've had many lost Dinos...some by my hand ( I really PLAYED with my toys ) others by accident or chance.

I recall a little black tyrannosaur I had once. I lost him in the late 80's early 90's somewhere at my grandparent's place. a couple year ago I was helping them move a soda machine near the garage..buried in the dirt was my wayward Tyrannosaur.

Last year my grandmother passed away right after Christmas. While cleaning up and going through her things I found my little Triceratops from the same line as the Rex in a drawer of things she had put up.

Both are now reunited on my shelf and safe and sound.

I lost my entire collection back when I decided (or my mom did for me) that I didn't need to keep toys anymore. I must have been about 13. I've slowly been tracking down a lot of the more memorable pieces. Namely those from the Carnegie collection (Brachiosaurus, Deinonychus, Tyrannosaurus and Protoceratops to name a few) but also some JP and Tyco among others. I even used to have a Tyco Tyrannosaurus...how I wish I could have that one back!

I remember having the little plastic Climatuis figure as a kid, and eventually either cut them up (I wanted to make Polypterus out of them, but the plastic was a no go) or tossed them as unnecessary toys--it was only a few years ago that I remembered them, and hunted down a few.

When I was younger, I had the Battat Gallimimus. I don't know why it was gotten rid of, while I still have the Tyrannosaurus and Ouranosaurus.

I was 4 years old when Jurassic Park 3 came out. I remember very clearly the aisle in my local Toys'R'Us that was lined with JP3 figures. While I did get some, my parents were unwilling to purchase some that I really wanted. Some in particular that I remember wanting were the Triceratops and the animatronic or poseable Spinosaurus (can't remember which one). Since I got back into collecting, I've started buying back some of the toys I was denied as a child. In the case of the Triceratops, I have both an MIB and loose copy. However, I regret that I couldn't have gotten more back then. Instead my parents promised me dinosaur toys from my relatives in China. So now instead of JP3 toys the majority of the dinosaur toys left from my childhood are crappy chinasaurs that just take up space in my closet..

I had some Jurassic Park dinosaurs. I had the juvenile T-Rex, the big red Rex, and the Stegosaurus (the one with a chunk missing out of it)
They were second hand bought from a car boot sale (garage sale) because my parents would only ever buy me new toys for my birthday or Christmas. The juvenile T-Rex had the feet and tail mostly chewed off, and the Rex had an arm missing, but I still liked them and played with them a lot. I also had the Dino Riders Velociraptor and Pteranodon, but I didn't even know what Dino Riders was back then.
Anyway, I think my parents chucked them out when I was 16 or so.

I also had a green Chinasaur Rex that I left in the garden. My dad accidentally hacked it up with a lawn mower.

I had a definitely dinosaurs green ceratosaurus when I was really little. Managed to hold on to it for a long time then magically one day a few years ago it vanished. I looked everywhere but could never find it. Then one day I went in to visit my mother's preschool class and guess who I find sitting in the bin of toys? My mother must have been cleaning out old toys to stock up the classroom with and tossed him in. Earlier this year I got permission to take him back. Now he happily is sitting on my TV.

I used to have the Play Vision Metriorynchus. I lost him when my family and I moved houses. Last I remember of him was leaving him balanced on the corner of an open box. I still hope I'll open a random box of old stuff one day and find him sitting at the bottom.
