Very good, but its obvious by a few yellow markings that you have used your repainted spino that you've showed us in the past? I liked that one...

I don't really like it. You painted it good, it is just that I don't like the colors.

Interesting about the paints. I usually use testors. I may try the cheap stuff and see if I like it.

I think you paint your dinos very well. I like Papo's paint jobs though, i think they went for a realistic colour scheme and i prefer Papo's colours to other companies who use Blues, reds, yellow's and bright Kermit Greens.

Really great color scheme going on there! Nice work man, and since Spinosaurus may have inhabited an arid desert environment, I'd say your choice of colors is probably more realistic, too. Of course, no one will ever know for sure...but I like it!

I, too understood that Spinosaurus inhabited an everglade-like area. The area is desert now. I don't know. With animals this size, I am not sure blending into the environment is possible, and if Spino is a fish eater, it may not have mattered. Maybe he was brightly colored, as a warning to stay away? Certainly, the sail seems likely to be bright to me, as do ceratopsian frills. But, I think no matter what color they were, a heard of sauropods is note likely to be able to hide from anything, or sneak past. ;D Although huge and bulky, it is possible that sauropods can blend in and be very quite, just like elephants do today ;D A herd on the other hand will send tremors all over the land ;D

I figure predators like allos could not help but notice a herd. Remember the trees and plants and forests were all much bigger making it easier for prey to hide, even big prey like the sauropods. I think the Allo's would have sniffed out their prey.

It's thought that Spinosaurus lived in an environment of shoreline, mangrove forest and swamps, not in the desert where there is little water for fish! Yeah, this is confusion between the environment where the fossils were found and the environment where the animals lived. Much of that part of the world--and much of the world in general--was pretty warm and swampy (obviously there were exceptions).

;D Big sauropods like Diplodocus would have had trouble moving in a forest. Remember they couldn't raise their heads and since their eyes were far ahead of their bodies it would be difficult to move in a lot of trees. When they reached adulthood they were big enough they didn't need to hide. Their enviornment was probably similar to the serengeti except with different plants. They were probably migratory animals like elephants. ;D
