So what figure is that one you have tomhet? Did you custom make it for your tree? Looks very cool It's a JPIII plastic straw from 2001 (I think). Every time I set up my tree I use it as a top. I was happy with the Velociraptor per se, but my mother customized it ;D

Are they legal to keep? I always wanted a pet bird, but they can be noisy and I can't have that in my apartment ;D

Depending on where you live you likely need a permit for a bird like a Kookaburra. Breeders can be hard to find too. They are not easy to keep and like hawks/falcons are prone to respiratory infections and aren't sturdy birds like parrots/finches. They are also not a great bird to think of keeping in your home. They need a large flight, eat nothing but mice/rats/baby chicks, and make LOTS of noise, at the crack of dawn and through the day. She is a cool bird to work with though, and is very tolerant of me. (obviously) She has a heck of bite though if you upset her. And, just because I am working on making some holiday cards for my family/friends...here is another - Sahara, the Sulcata Tortoise, all 60lbs of her. The card will read - "Due to a horrible and unforeseen air strike incident, Santa has lost his entire team of Reindeer. He has found last minute replacements though..." And inside will be this photo, and it will say, "Expect your gifts to arrive sometime around July 2012."

Very cool, guys!
Tomhet, love the JPIII tree-topper! And, surprise! I thought I would see a fish or a salamander on top of your tree, lol!
And, Crowman, Matilda looks fabulous. What a trooper, huh?! And your tortoise and script are a hoot!!!
I have a Juassic Park-inspired Xmas card I made along time ago. I'll try to find it and scan it for you guys later today.

Meso-Cenozoic - Thanks Those birds are some of the birds under my care. I teach about animals and do traveling educational programs, and am also involved with breeding some species. Its a full time job keeping after everyone, but I think its rewarding. Tomhet - love the tree topper - I too would have expected some sort of fish! Theri - That Deinotherium looks like he was made to be in a Santa outfit
