Ok, one of my Collectors Quest "buddy" just posted some of his metal Kaiyodo figures and they look really cool! Anyone here have them? He also had skeletons that came with a booklet that showed painted figures. It's really interesting. He is new so he is slowly adding photos to his page. He also mentioned some rare figures ( I'm assuming he is talking about Kaiyodos) that I am curious to see what they are. I told him I am going to "mention" him on this forum, so I am attaching the link to his page. I also invited him to join us crazy DTF folks! ;D So be nice, ok? ;D Here are the metal figures: www.collectorsquest.com/collection/item/14738/metal-kaiyodo-figures.htmlAnd the skeleton: www.collectorsquest.com/collection/item/14740/skeletal-model-figures.html

Yeah, the Kaiyodo metal series is the one Dinotales series that I have no interest in--they are recasts of other Dinotales and cost quite a bit at the time. They were not distributed much, and to be honest I don't know many collectors that went (or are going) out of their way for them.
Don't know about the skeletons--they look pretty cool, but I tend to avoid skeletons that are not part of sets with reconstructions in them

I am the guy with those collections and the metal stuff.
Sbell is right, metal or pewter dinos in general are not sought after but since they tend to become discontinued right away they are always going to be hard to find eventually.
In the past, pewter stuff never looked quite accurate, or was too exaggerated but Japan's (Favorites and the Kaiyodos) mark the first steps in the right direction by a manufacturer. I have other pewters I like a lot but they're the traditional type sculptures.
(And no, there was no Spinosaurus- Kaiyodo didn't do that many types)

Darn! If there was a spinosaurus, I would trade anything for it. Well, almost anything.

I don't recognize it.

The skeletons are plastic. Different piece.
I am not done adding the rarest Kaiyodo Dinotales but will soon.

I am very curious about the rare Dinotales--there are very few that I don't have (in at least one colour variation, which is all I feel the need to collect). On the other hand, if you have any non-dino Japanese stuff, I am looking for the giant salamander and frilled shark from the animaltales lines.

I didn't know they had done some of the mammals and the Anomalocaris in metal as well. Nothing I would go out of my way for, since I have the resin versions, but interesting nonetheless.
