Older one:
The text reads posterior-to-anterior (anatomically) and is located on the right ventral side of the dinosaur. The "P" in Parasaurolophus is illegible, so the genus name appears misspelled.
Newer one:
The text reads anterior-to-posterior (the opposite of the earlier sculpt), and is better centred on the ventral side of the dinosaur. The full genus name is legible.

Yes, I count three. I have two in the original green/yellow colour scheme, and they are distinctly different sculpts. I can take a photo of them if anyone needs it. I think that a comparison pic would be beneficial along with the info you posted ....can it not just be added to the article ?

I figured this one would be up soon...lol I posted a comment regarding the flipper bending a quick fix for it. Krono is one of my favorite Pliosaurs...I had the Marx figures but my first real connection with the name was that Explorers in Dinosaur World book by Price Stern Sloan..when Safari released this sucker I remember buying two..one for display and the other to play with...lol..it saw a lot of pool time. Safari really needs to make a couple other prehistoric marine reptiles for us...they at least need an Icthyosaur of some sort...of course I'd take a Tylo and Notho as well... ;D I'm a little surprised they haven't jumped on the bandwagon and re-painted it to look like the WWD Liopluerodon.

Interesting comment - so you are saying there are not two different sculpts? It's just that they deform over time?

Well mine did and I had two of them to start with from the first release and one from a few years back...and they all three did it. Safari may have used harder plastic by now but I haven't seen one recently to tell.

lovely sculpt! May I ask what's the source of the image? How do you know its Safari's new sculpt - perhaps you are directly involved? This may warrant a new thread!

Seriously? That's an upcoming Safari figure? I may go mad waiting! I knew they had asked a few people (myself, indirectly, included) about prehistoric marines, but I never dreamed it would reach this level of awesome. Now get me my Xiphactinus, consarn it!

Forest Rogers posted it on her blog. I believe she has been the primary sculptor on the Carnegie line right from the beginning. Also check out the awesome spinosaurus. I just hope all that incredible detailing doesn't get lost or distorted in the molding process.

Great pics! It's weird they'd release another Spinosaurus after the new paint job last year. Maybe it's not a Spinosaurus (hold out hope for an Irritator)
