Well..
a) I did not know I was competing with anyone...
b) I don't have access to air brushes or other professional tools. i have never, ever claimed to be a pro. I also don't figure pros like this as competition, as then I would have hundreds of competition....
c) If you think I can in any way be considered as competing with this stuff, then that is high praise indeed. Thanks.
d) I don't really care for the look of that at all, sorry...

Who?.... If I am competing, that implies a prize, so let me know what it is. I don't see myself as competing. I do these things purely for enjoyment. I post only to share, not show off or any such. If some want to trade paints for figures, great. But I do not consider myself a pro, and have no interest in "competition". I think some of you fundamentally misunderstand my posting these...

Check out those JPtoys boards you are so in love with. There are EXCELLENT customizers there, too bad they are poisoned with jurassic park figures....

Why do you say I am in love with them? I have posted like three times, ond over a thousand here. They custom JP toys because they are JP fans, so would not see themselves as poisoned. And again, why do I worry if other people are good painters too? There are many people out there better than me. Especially those who build and customize--they call it accurizing--the various military vehicles and models. Some of those guys will blow your mind. I am not at that level--yet. I do build other kits though, and it is different weathing a viper, and painting a toy. I am not trying to make them look all weathered etc. And, I don't understand why I should be jealous or cpompetitive because someone else paints well? Especially a pro who does it for a living. I would hope he paints better than me? I don't think you understand my total lack of interest in "competing".
And I don't like those colors on the allo. It is well done, obviously, but as I have already said, I don't like the bright flashy colors on these figures. I just like the muted earth tones better. To say I am jealous 'cause I don't like the color choices? That is like saying you are just jealous every time you don't like one of mine, and that would be silly. huh?

Nah, it just seems sometimes that people don't really understand me, or why I do these. No cereal, it raises my blood sugar too much. Not making any more fuss than one person who cried an awful lot about my stuff being posted on the "normal" boards.....

WOW! That is a very impressive paint job! You are an amazing artist, Mauro. You have a great sense of design! Do you have others you've done? BTW, the only thing I'm not sure about is the bright yellow color on the eyes. I might have made the yellow a little less of a true straight yellow and maybe more of a creamy blend of yellow and ivory. But, that's just my personal opinion. About the intensity of the other colors, I've always wondered if the larger predators would have them. It's true that many smaller reptiles and amphibians are brightly colored, but isn't that often to ward off their enemies? It seems that the larger predators would be more camouflaged, so they could blend into their environment and sneak up and surprise their prey, much like a lion or large reptile like the komodo dragon or even crocodilians. But hey, whether or not these big predators were colored brightly or not, we just don't know. Anyway, I think Big Al here is awesome looking!!! Thanks for sharing!

This is exactly why I don't think this should have been posted here. i have posted lots of pics I have found on-line in the regular board, under--on-line finds. I did not post pics of pro work that is not mine in the customs thread, so that people may mistake it as a member's work. Unless Mauo is Joe Dunaway, I respectfully submit it is posted in the wrong place. I know this makes me look like a jealous ass, which is why I did not voice my opinion earlier, but people are thinking this is a member's work when it in fact is not. Just saying. It is true that it is a customed allo, just not an amateur one. I don't know, but I can go find all sorts of custom work and post it here, like stuff from the JP customs board. It would be customs, right? I....just don't know how to articulate what I am saying without it sounding like a personal thing, sorry.

This is not a work of mine! Just to let you see a fantastic piece of art I found in the net. I wrote "by Joe Dunaway" in the topic title...I hoped it was very clear!
