I don't really get it....I wasn't asking for pics myself...JPRex made it clear he couldn't...and I don't think he told us much more than before..just size... plenty of other companies produce things after their product has been leaked...honestly we here can't think of one thing that has been done with before :?
Just like spoilors for a film..all it does is hype people up...if you don't want to know it's easy not to read them you know ?

That's not exactly what I meant, and I am not addressing my comments to any person in particular, just random speculation.
But, it may be more a matter of confidentiality. He has said to keep lowkey any any details he gives us. Just suppose if he was not supposed to be discussing it, then it is seen that we know size, details, skin texture etc. Could get someone into trouble ya? ANd, discussing it here is not the same as posting it onto Wikki as a done deal, either...
On the other hand, leaking small amounts of details onto the forum in order to whet our appetites, and to read our feedback may be just what they wanted. Just imagine if they are reading the boards, to decide which of the figures are generating the interest, as a way to gauge what would sell and therefore make it all the way this year??

Maybe...I tend to doubt Safari even knows we exist..and the low number of people seeing that Wiki article...add that to the fact many distrust Wiki in general...eh..I don't know.

Well, I suppose if Mightyjptrex has a problem with any of that, he will let us know. I suppose it is not for me to worry about.
As for Safari knowing about us or reading our stuff, I would not bet against it, at some level, anyway. Remember they ar familiar with the blog, quoting Tomhet's review of one figutre, and sending Dr. A all those figures to review. It is just a click to get here from there, and very well advertised. So, you never know.
Just got done watching Before the Dinosaurs, Walking with Dinos, Walking With Beasts, and Cavemen with Susan over the last week. I do agree we need more, and better, figures from both before and after the dinos. At least Safari has put out a couple of before the dinos things this year. It is a great shame that they are all discontinuing and ignoring the mammals, including marine ones like basilasaurus.
He says, trying to bring the thread back on track....

I would like a Basilisaurus myself...but there are several marine reptiles I would also like ... like a darn Nothosaurus...c'mon somebody !
Mammals don't hold much interest for me...my dad likes mammoths and cave bears and such but not enough to buy figures really...though I occasionally surprise him with one.

Yup, I am tempted by Malcolm's piece, and Procon has started with mammals too. But, I wouls love to see some new Wild Safari ones. I would love a somewhat accurate Woolly rhino, the Bully one is nice enough, but not all that accurate. And WS would put out a killer Terror Bird...

ooOOOOOOOOOoooo i've been thinking about this post ever since it was posted! when are these coming out? can we get hints on periods that are going to be represented? I've been in touch with Safari for various reasons, and was told that they will be adding to their "Prehistoric Life" collection. What that means, I don't know, but keep in mind that the PL collection is the mammals set, so hopefully we will see something interesting (they already have the standard Smilodon and Mammoth, so we should be safe there unless they pull a Papo).

I just want to say thanks so far again. I do wonder what the prehistoric life would be. Hmm?

Maybe it's the Brachiosaurus model that we assumed would be for the Wild Safari line, since it could technically be considered to be an example of "prehistoric life",marking a change in direction from the mammals usually associated with that line? ;D Either that or maybe something you mammal fans are going to love along the lines of say Uintatherium or Brontops maybe. ;D

I am personally very much hoping for a brontothere, as they are a big part of the museum I manage. An entelodont, hyaenodont (done right--as nice as the AAA/WwB-inspired one is, they aren't that accurate) or nimravid would be good too!

It's tough to predict precisely what that next mammal (or mammals) will be next.Maybe it will be a Brontotherium,or maybe something unexpected like Hyracotherium or Thylacosmilus. But I'm going to make a prediction anyway: Coelodonta antiquitatus, the famous woolly rhino.

Something that is unique but gift shop friendly is always ideal--and there are few museums in North America that don't have things like entelodonts and brontotheres--and Safari very much looks to the NA market as their main territory (just ask people from Europe or Australia how hard it can be to get Safari figures).
