Hell yeah, Primeval returns!!! Am i the only one who thinks that we won't see a Spinosaurus but, instead, an Irritator? I don't know, it reminds me a lot Felipe Elias restoration of that dino, much more than a proper Spino... Glad they came back with the show, let's hope Nick Cutter will return as well ;D

The new season starts tomorrow Saturday the 1st on BBC at 9 pm.HELL YAEH! Having finally seen Seasons 1 and 2...wow. Big drop in effects budget for Season 2, huh? Also--they seem to have completely switched where the show was going. It's like the writers didn't think the sci-fi element was enough on its own, so they introduced (unnecessary) supervillainy. But the creatures were cool. Whenever Netflix Canada gets Season 3, I'll watch it, in the hopes it improves again.

So we got the Spinosaurus in ep. 1. Any other creatures? And was there a decent resolve from the cliffhanger last season left us with?

So we got the Spinosaurus in ep. 1. Any other creatures? And was there a decent resolve from the cliffhanger last season left us with? Yep this was the episode with the spino. No other creatures yet but next week there is that weird looking one I forget the name. The cliffhanger was resolved well I believe. What happened was Connor lost that annomly device or handheld device a year ago. In this episode one of the raptors took abby's sleeping bag or something. When the went to go get it they found it in the raptors nest with the annomly device. They made it work and opened an annomly and went home with some extra large luggage called a spinosaurus. ;D Also they did mention Danny but he did not come home yet. I believe he will be back later in the season.

The creature in ep 2 is a Kaprosuchus that doesn't even remotely resemble a Kaprosuchus, ep 3 is a wierd tree-climbing dromaeosaur that looks nothing like, well, ANYthing, ep 4 is a thereocephalian or Cynognathus or osmething along that line, and eps 5-7 involve the future predators coming through an anomaly and maybe killing a whole town, and there's a pliosaur in the las episode too.

They mentioned Danny a few times and they started to mention Sarah as well but never actually said what happened to her (unless i missed it). Is it implied that she was fired?
In the next episode looks like Rex is back which is good. They should have included who was taking care of him while they were gone as well.
And that poor Dracorex has not gone home yet???

I take it you guys didn't watch the Webisodes. They explain what happened inbetween Series 3 and Series 4. Sarah was actually killed during an attempt to rescue Danny, Connor, and Abby. When that rescue attempt failed, Becker quit the ARC, thinking it was his fault that Sarah died, and that the others are missing. The Minister decided to make the ARC public/private owned, which is where the character Phillip Burton comes into the picture, much to Lester's "excitement" (not really). They rebuilt a new state of art ARC (as seen in Series 4 Episode 1). With the team gone, new people were needed to take there place; Jess Parker and Matt Anderson. Becker was also convonced to come back. As for the creatures that were never sent back; the Columbian Mammoth, Dracorex, Rex, and Sid & Nancy (Diictodons), they all now live at the new ARC in what they call The Menagerie (basically a zoo). This will be explained more later in the series. I hoped this helped you all out.

Oh yeah brain fart. My bad.
I just watched the webisodes. That makes it a lot easier to understand now. Bothers me how they reference the appearance of dinosaurs like stegosaurus and iguanodon but don't show anything save for some blurry footage of other animals that have already been on the show expecting viewers to take their word for it. But it is a webisode....

Those webisodes better be on the DVD for completeness' sake.
Also good to see they bring back starnded creatures from earlier episodes. Now if they could only make up a good coherent story line instead of simply focusing on 'creature-of-the-week' stuff...

Since when is the storyline only the 'creature-of-the-week'? It's never been only about that. There has always been an underlying story or stories. For example, Helen had nothing to do with any 'creature-of-the-week', and that was the main story for the first three series!

Honestly i kinda wish it was more creature of the week sometimes.... I think you have a point. I know I mentioned this earlier in the thread: Wow. I have reservations about this show (and only actually saw a handful of episodes from just the first season), but I confess I like the look of this in spite of myself. Now if they could only work on character and story too, that would be perfect... And that was precisely my chief concern with it. ;D But conversely, if the plot and characterisations are clunky at the best of times, it may be just as well for them to dispense with those. 'Creature of the week' almost seems like the better option in that light..

Man, I got me some catchin' up to do. I didn't realize the first episode already started here in the States. Maybe it will be on my "On Demand."
The new creatures look awesome! I think the CGI is better. Although, I thought most of the creatures before were really pretty good, especially for a TV show.
