Not that it would really hard to just carve them off if you didn't want them either... Spines have been put on dinosaurs for years...early black and white sketches show them, Hallet started putting some on his therapods in late 80's the look sort of when out when JP came around and they had no spines on any of them...the look has sort of been off on since then..but the look has very early roots. I'm glad to have one sauropod figure with them..besides Amargasaurus.

And don't forget the Agustinia and whatever he has on the back of him! LOL! ;D Then there's the Happinet Super, the "unofficial WwD" Dippy by TS Toys, the odd looking Procon Rebbachisaurus, the BMNH Diplo by Toyway (with the funny little head), and the very cool Kabaya Seismosaurus (chaser figure) designed by Araki. Alas, I only have the Deluxe Procon Agustinia of these aforementioned figures. But, I do have both the Battat and Carnegie Amargasaurs and most definitely will own a genuine Fauna Casts SUPERSAURUS!!! ;D

Eh, Tomhet is just expressing his opinion...we went over all this before though and it was decided to " spike it " though since Malcolm has already said he can do either version...I think everyone will get what they want..

It is no big either way. I don't think merely discussing fossil evidence is a bad thing though. We all know the piece has been decided on, but a discussion on the evidence is always interesting to me, I have learned many things here from those discussions, and we have so few of them anymore.

Yeah, I've noticed that the actual part of the board where we discuss science/new dino finds etc is one of the least visited. It's a real shame, especially since that area is why I started posting in the first place.

I heard from a previous member on another board that members here aren't that accepting of scientific views or logic in general...not the exact wording..but close. I know we have some that were like that but it's nothing to start wars over...which could a reason for the decline...you never know what is going to set someone off.

There are other dino-toy boards??? PM, please. P.S. With my level of posting in the past 2 months, I would hope I have livened things up a bit and made up for those 'dearly departed' members ...

Well there are other boards that discuss dinosaur toys...not exactly boards made for them... you might like JPToys ..though I'm thinking you've been on there right ? This other forum was a JP fan site..it has a section for JP toys and collectibles though... one member had gotton ahold of some Safari figures, loved them and wanted to know more so I directed them here. A previous member just didn't much of the suggestion..other members set him straight though...

I've been a member since 2001, but haven't participated much. Seems to have a lot of members. But I'm not into JP Toys. They do have a good archive resource for the toy lines - including Chap Mei ...

It has a lot of young members that's for sure..but there is some real talent hidden in certain places.
I just recently picked up the Chap Mei Amargasaurus....it's pretty cool looking..just needs the tail lengthened...I tweaked the color a bit..if you like the Chap Mei pieces def consider getting one.

Even though the figures are boring/awful, it is enough to keep them going, so that is something. But overall, I haven't felt much need to visit there for months now.

Had a paint idea.. if it's not to difficult why not use the pattern from the painting tutorial in the recent issue of PT that was used o nthe Apatosaurs ?
Surely I'm not the only one who saw it and thought " I'd like to have one of those " .

Blade, could you post a finished pic of that Apatosaurus for those of us that don't get the PT mag? I know, I know, shame on me. I can feel you shaking your finger at me!

I don't really get tired of people asking....lol I just don't have a scanner and very limited use of a camera...I'll see if I can locate it online. I knew Malcolm had a subscription so figured he could easily flip over to it...let me see if I can find anything. The paint job was done by Steven Demarco and photographed by Hiram Glass and the subject is a Rader Studios Apato...if you want try searching up anything yourself.
