Was that PT issue 89, the one with the big cats?
If so, I have a scanner and I won't mind scanning and posting this.

I'm not at home at the moment, but I'll scan it for you tonight.
Do you want the entire tutorial or just pictures of the finished model?

Well I have the whole thing myself..and Malcolm does too...so just the best finished pics are fine for illustrating the colors and patterns for me... the first two pages are the photo spread with the same pattern but in red, green, blue and brown I think. Looked everywhere this morning for them but nada..thanks again for offering to do this.

I scanned the last half page of the article, I hope this is enough. If not, let me know and I'll scan the other two pages. By clicking on the pic, you will be taken to a larger version in my gallery.

Wow. That is one of the prettiest paint jobs I've seen on a sauropod. Ever.

Sure would, especially if he sent it to me, so I could paint it. Yeaaaaa, that's the ticket

Wow! Thanks Para! That is some awesome paint job!! I agree, Blade. That would look really cool on Malcolm's. The only thing I'd change a little is muting the yellow a bit. Other than that, I like the patterns and colors he used. It's really different than anything I've seen on a sauropod. Might Malcolm have to change it up a little? I mean, Steven DeMarco probably doesn't have a patent on this design, but he is advertising for his own custom designs. And, Malcolm is selling his for a profit. Hmmm? Just wondering.

Interesting point.
I might keep the yellow as is, but I might grey out the blue-sh purple somewhat. I think Malcolm would have to simplify this somewhat anyway, if he was going to hand paint every piece that sells.

Had a paint idea.. if it's not to difficult why not use the pattern from the painting tutorial in the recent issue of PT that was used o nthe Apatosaurs ? Surely I'm not the only one who saw it and thought " I'd like to have one of those " . LOL! ;D ;D ;DLOL ;D ;D ;D Now you know where I got the idea for my repainted Nigera! ;D ;D ;D Yah, those paint jobs are awesome, but can be tricky... if you are like me who don't have the talent I tried to follow the instruction, like paint by numbers! ;D

Heh..the neat thing is there is a ready made guide for painting models that way...lol
I don't think it's trademark or copyrighted for the pattern and or coloration...and I mean it is a tutorial...showing anyone who wants to how to paint it up afterall.
The primer and base could be airbrushed to save time...and maybe the blue color ( if that's what is used..the spread on the first two pages has a green, red, brown, ect.. version of the same pattern ) only the wash , drybrushing and detailing would be time consuming...maybe an hour or two ? Though I'm sure Malcolm could refine that after painting one.
Lookin' good Boki !

Hey everyone,
I was recently invited to join the forum, so after lurking around for a while, I thought I would poke my nose in here real quick. I do need to change my website, as my Supersaurus is no longer the only one commercially available (it was when I released it), but it is still pretty accurate. I based the proportions upon the composite skeleton that the Wyoming Dinosaur Center has mounted (which works because both specimens are the same size), and I sculpted it under the close guidance of their director of science, Scott Hartman.
Also, I wanted to mention that the size measurements that I have on my website are not the proper scientific measurements taken along the centra of the vertebral column. Instead, they are a straight-line measurement accross the curve of the sculpture, providing my customers an idea of the shelf space required to house the piece. If you measure along the curve of my Supersaurus, it is much closer to the 60 inches that is mentioned earlier in this thread. No skimping here!
Cheers, Jonathan Rader RaderStudios
