I really like the old and gnarled look of it.. but then I've also like the other previous pieces ... they've just been too much in my opinion. They also end up on eBay I bet and I mihgt be able to snag one for less. Now if they do a really awesome Allo I could be tempted...or a Spino for a friend we could go in together for it.
Hopefully it will be fully shown soon...I bet it has slashes and bite marks all over it's body...maybe even a clipped tail...where some rival predator bit it off at some point... stories are really important to me and to tell it with sculpture and not words...in dino format..well I'm pretty much sold...heh heh...

I am loving its look! It looks quite beat up and tough. One of my favorites so far.

I really do not like this one. When I first saw it, I thought "Hey look, a dragon with horns". What is with all those skull pieces sticking out of the head?!
I wonder why they made another tyrannosaurus. I think they should have done something like a velociraptor instead of another rex.

Tyrannosaurus sells better than Velociraptor.
I like it. It shows a new view of Tyrannosaurus. It strays away from the bird driven path most restorations follow nowadays, and gives it a more lizard like appearance, without losing its accuracy too much.
If it were to stay perfect like most, and how CT wants them, what would be the fun in collecting them?

I'm sure there will be a Raptor soon.... they are almost as popular as Rex. The first piece was smaller than the last so my guess is this will be a larger piece... I just love the sunken flesh and weathered look.

If it were to stay perfect like most, and how CT wants them, what would be the fun in collecting them? Except, these things are like $300. I think they would want more diversity for that price. "without losing it's accuracy too much". You haven't even SEEN the thing, and like you say "Don't jump to conclusions". It's a d**n shame I want my dinosaurs accurate, isn't it. My collection and my way of life is sooo boring, I know, right tyrannax? I should smelt down all my dinosaurs to make them more lizardy and more "cool" and more "fun to collect", so other people like you can have "fun". They can make it look lizardy without having BONES sticking out of it's SKIN. I know of no "lizard" that has BONES sticking out of it's skin. And you aren't even going to get one, right? I remember you saying they were too expensive.

Whoa, whoa! Easy there fella. I meant without losing its accuracy by not becoming one of those old 50's Tyrannosaurs with a rounded snout. You just jumped to conclusions by thinking I meant it is perfectly accurate, when I meant it is more accurate than the old, retro look. And by saying I think it is more accurate than the old models isn't "Jumping to Conclusions" in the context you are thinking. Its a small observatory opinion. I didn't say "It sucks because its inaccurate!". (I am not making the assumption you said that.) It looks much different than the JP Tyrannosaurus. That's variation! I'd rather collect variation than perfectly sculpted figures all the time that looks absolutely no different from one another. It is expensive, and I'm in no position to be buying it if it were indeed released now.

I'm with CT on this one, I don't find it attractive at all The Carnotaurus is divine though, they should have sticked to that kind of sculpting

True we haven't even seen the whole critter... but I do like my dinos to have some personnality... in the tyrannosaur group you have Sharptooth, Scarface, and of course the JP Tyrannosaur..all had personnality to the designs.
One note I don't see any bones sticking out of it's flesh ? Just old wounds and some sagging, sunken skin areas...like I would imagine an old Rex to look...maybe like the new one they found...or one that is right there near the end of species at the extinction point...something like that.

It seems most people do like it, so slideshow did well. We can't have all of our needs met in a single statue can we?

Yes we can. Take the papo allosaurus for example. Very flashy, very spiny, very lizardlike, very accurate. If this thing was more like that I would like it more.

Actually it looks like it has the Papo Allosaurus style mixed in with it. Rough, and thick-skinned. Well we all have our own opinions.

Looks great. His limber stance and ornery visage say "I might be a scavenger, but you probably don't want to get on my bad side". If I had to shell out that amount of money, though, I'd probably go with one of the other two. They're jaw-dropping.

Nice to finally see a T.Rex with a truly substantial tail length! Love that scarred-up, battle-worn face! I guess this Rex finally got tired of battling his meals and decided to become a veggiesaurus, lol! Too bad they cost sooooo much! I really like their sculpts. And, their bases are cool too!
