It's because those are handpicked for freshness and juiciness. ;D How nice would it be if you could grow you own Carnegie dino trees.

A CollectA tree? That would be slow to mature, bearing many deformed fruits.

A CollectA tree? That would be slow to mature, bearing many deformed fruits. Slow to mature? CollectA is pretty new in prehistoric figures and some of the recent ones are excellent figures, Do you remember what some of the early Carnegie figures looked like? cough Para cough.

How they look now is different from how they looked then, which was typically accurate of the time; the same can't be said of CollectA's early pieces. But this is a discussion better left to another thread.

Awesome ! I need a prehistoric plasti-crack fix ! ;D I know it only too well. Maybe we should start a group..Prehistorics Anonymous.. lol This forum just feeds our addiction.. ;D The Favorite Spinosaurus is a really nice piece..the coloring makes you shake your head a bit but it def has the detail..trying to convince yourself to leave it in the package and not pop it out and repaint it is a def a challenge..

Buy a pair and repaint one! That's what I usually do (or at least, plan) if I love a figure but am not keen on its paintwork/ colouring.
It's true, you know, the addiction. And when prey to melancholy, it only worsens. On that note, I shall go and order something this very moment...

Safari's 2011 rendition of the tyrant king - which they have also labeled "T-rex" - is the most scientifically accurate restoration currently available on the figure market. I still think the Favorite is better in that respect, but it's better than most...

Possibly, although I tend to think of the Japanese companies differently - maybe because they have those dang awesome Kaiyodos.

Update 8/17August could be considered the month of Jorge Blanco. Why? Well, his work is just about everywhere you look. A few weeks ago, Jorge's amazing resin kits became part of Dan's Dinosaurs. On August 2, Sideshow finally offered a complete reveal of the Stegosaurus statue, also sculpted by Jorge Blanco. It's scheduled for release sometime in 2012. And this week, shipping has begun for the highly anticipated Sideshow Apatosaurus - a real colossus at 43" long - and once again, sculpted by Jorge Blanco. After so much craziness in the first half of the year, I was rather hoping things would slow down by August. Clearly this hasn't been the case. And to think, Dinosaur Revolution is just a few weeks away. I am stoked.
