Gah, it isn't a whole body sculpture of the Deinosuchus? That ruins my chances of every getting it.. I'd like to see an Acrocanthosaurus bent down with its head lodged between the jaws of a massive marine reptile. Maybe it'd be too gory? And possibly too sad. ;D That would suck. Acrocanthosaurus is so awesome, why demeanish him like that? But I suppose Para isn't eh? Lions are killed by Crocodiles The same way, yet this isn't "demeanishing" to the species. The same could be sculpted with Deinosuchus and Tyrannosaurus. There isn't much either could do if they were in that position, unless they end up like a certain baboon caught on tape. (It ended up freeing its head from a Crocodile's mouth) Who said we can't make them subadults to soften the blow? ;D

Ummm, not to nitpick or anything, but demeanish isn't a word. You can demean, or you can diminish, but not demeanish....

Too late for me in what context? I simply used your word. Haha, I don't usually take examples from anyone. ;D Not because I don't want to, but because I am usually so tired during the day that I can hardly pay attention to customers. I don't recommend going to bed at 3:30 every night. For me, well, I've been doing that for years. A very bad habit...I seem to be losing my analytical side over this.. Cordy, a Tyrannosaurus being eaten by a Deinosuchus please you correct? No harm there I don't suppose. ;D So Dan, are the Sideshows comparable to Papo's quality? The pictures are great, but what is your opinion on this?

I have read for weeks that Sideshow does not surpass Papo's quality (No, not this forum). I never stated I believed this, so I'd like to hear Dan's opinion. In my opinion they're another group of Papo Allosaurus fans complaining over Sideshow's rising popularity.

Well the Papo allo is nice, for a 15 dollar toy, but when you lookat things like the Sideshow stuff, it is a whole different game. Tere is no toy out there, none, that can match a statue like this. I can see that just from the pics. As can you. You need to get some more sleep, if that's not readily apparent, young padawan.

My vision is blurred, and my performance during the day is terrible. I am forgetting to check my posts, and I am constantly making typos from being half asleep. At this point I find it difficult to become drowsy. I'll take your advice though. I'm going to try to sleep rather early tonight. Night.

T, you're too young to be burning yourself out. Once you get into this night schedule, it will always stick with you. trust me, I know. that's why I have to take ambien just to get to sleep. I can sleep like a baby during the day, but 3 am is like playime for me, and it sucks.
I guess I seemed a little harsh in the last post, sorry, I didn't mean it that way.

Acrocanthosaurus is an overrated dinosaur. He may have been the NA apex predator of its time, but srsly.

Here it is! I love it it's awesome I love how they made the croc skull as the extra piece. I already preordered it can't wait to get it! It's price is 265 dollars a little high but what can you do. Here's a direct link. www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=2000411i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww190/mightyjptrex/2000411_press01-001.jpg[/IMG]Also here's the backstory. Lying on the murky bottoms of streams is what the female Deinosuchus does best. She watched an entire herd of Parasaurolophus pass by, and not once was she tempted to snap at the feet tramping past her face. The time was not right. The prey was not right. The rain in the mountains 250 miles inland must have been raging for days for the floodplains where she abides to be swollen with water, silt, carcasses and logs from high altitude trees. The local populations are a little off their daily routines and, therefore, very confused. The night before, she saw a massive ceratopsian stuck on a raft of metasequoia logs completely paralyzed with fright. Today, it seems the dinosaurs are trying to act like nothing happened. Going on with their lives and still taking the same trails that lead to their old grazing fields, even though those fields are now crisscrossed with new channels that are murky enough to conceal her 45 foot long body. Funny things, these dinosaurs. Her lungs need to be filled, so she floats to the surface like a water-soaked log. She is completely unnoticed by the feeding herd as her eyes and nose just break the surface. The air is thick with the smell of rot, a bonus to her since her own smell will be masked. The sounds these ones make have always annoyed her. The rumbles are so deep that they are imperceptible to most predators. To her, it's as loud as any mating Tyrannosaur. Their infrasounds seep into the ground and are amplified underwater, disturbing her naps. Then she sees it, the perfect prey. A young Parasaurolophus is ambling towards the spot where the others had crossed. It honks and rumbles in a mix of confusion and fear. The croc's nictitating membrane wipes over her eye in annoyance. "Shut up," she thinks. The other dinosaurs rumble back. The sound is unbearable, but still she lies motionless. The hadrosaur dips in one foot, and then another, fixated on the other side. As predicted, it charges into the water. The female Deinosuchus anticipates the moment when the young dinosaur's feet can no longer reach the bottom like the adults' did. For an instant, the dinosaur feels nothing under its feet. For and instant it feels panic. An instant is all Deinosuchus needs.

Acros are just cool looking... those ridges o nthe back remind me of the old reconstructions of Spinosaurus..so it has a nostalgic merit...and if they did one fighting a couple Utahraptors...heh... I'm sold ! The backstory almost sells the piece...good read...but I have to slam the breaks on when I see that price tag..

Well, I feel much more awake this afternoon, I'll say that Kevin. Too late for me in what context? I simply used your word. The pictures are great, but what is your opinion on this? Would have just preferred a "fight" between them instead of complete and total death of one.... We see Herbivores being brought to their deaths on some models, and yet we only see predators fighting. So when is it time to turn a corner and create a piece in which a predator is close to death? If you push aside the yearning to view the dinosaur as the main animal in the sculpture, and see the Deinosuchus as the primary figure in which the statue was created, you will finally see that the outcome is no different than an Allosaurus biting into the neck of a dying Stegosaurus. In order to lessen the urge to view the piece as if it were chiefly created for the Tyrannosaurus, it'd be an excellent idea to instead use a juvenile versus a 40+ foot adult.
