Yea, all that means is that it is bendy.....most of them are to a degree. Then it must be a reversed pic. It is not from the same angle, the small pic is a different angle, and reversed from the large one. Maybe they only took a couple of pics from one direction, then reversed one to make it look different in the catalog? Who knows.

I notice that the toob icthyo is a reddish maroon color, and I hope the carnegie looks simsilar. I and CT have both read that they are somehow able to determine a reddish maroon type coloration on the real animal. I really must find that passage in my book..... Al the figure's texture looks....grainy somehow. Perhaps it is just the photo, and not the figures? Either way, there is not a one I will not get here, they are just beautiful. And so many we have not had from a major toy line before. Happy, happy, joy, joy. I have also read this in one of my books. I guess I should look it up, but I do have a lot of books.

Okay, what we know, thusfar. From Cryptomundo, (September 8, 2009)... www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/ws-coelacanth/Coelacanth ( Latimeria chalumnae) KentrosaurusRhamphorhynchus"Prehistoric Replicas Galore" (September 10, 2009) www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/galore-10/BrachiosaurusApatosaurusLiopleurodon (designed under the direction of Dr. Adam Stuart Smith) MosasaurusArthur at Lin and Pin Hobbies released the above four + toob images, www.linkandpinhobbies.com/dinotoys.htm...which were obviously from Safari Ltd. www.safariltd.com/BTW, FYI, Safari's president is female (Ramona Pariente) not male, as incorrectly assumed by stoneage, above. Cheers, Loren I actually wasn't assuming anything. Generally one uses the male tense when sex isn't known. What does sex have to do with it anyway? If she says the information is not going to be released until November 1st, and then on the same day 3 hours latter its released, what does that tell us? It tells me that I can't count on their information. This stuff may still not be released! Remember Link And Pin also had the Sea Monsters on their list when no one else did.

Alright, tell if I'm crazy. On second thought, don't! LOL! ;D So, I've been blowing up all these in photoshop trying to get a better view of them. And, one always stuck out differently from all the others. Why is it that the Apato pic is the only one with a smaller insert? Well, when I blew it up bigger, I saw something very interesting that I was suspecting when viewing the smaller pic. The head, neck, and tail look like they're in slightly different positions in each pic, especially the head and tail!! I'm wondering if they're bendable like the Tanystropheas is? Look at the two figures in this blown up pic... I swear the tail is curved differently in each and the head is also turned differently -- big pic is turned toward the front and the small one it's turned towards the back! I can't be too sure about the neck. But, in the smaller pic, the neck looks like it curves up more. It just seems there has to be a reason for just that figure to have two separate views. If this turns out to be the case, how awesome would that be?! Hmmm? What do you think??? If I remember right the new Carnegie Diplodocus was shown in more then one pose before being released.

As far as I can tell, these ones are all for sure--they are listed as figures that can be ordered, with prices. The only ones we don't know for sure are the 2 Carnegies--they are listed, but neither pictured nor priced (although I can't imagine that they would be stopped now). What are people's opinion on the fossil toob? I can't recall seeing anyone mention that one.

That Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus are simply...amazing. How big are they?

I thought exactly that when I saw it CT. It does look like it has a bumpier texture. For me, that is a more of a con than pro. I 'd prefer if any large Pliosaur figure in general had a smooth outer layer. Still, these pictures are being shown far from their release date. We know how misleading they can be from past experiences.

I don't think anyone's a huge fan of the fossil toob. We buy plastic replicas of the animals because the animals no longer exist, but the fossils certainly do, and can be observed in museums and in some cases owned ourselves.

^ basically. I'd rather have a living eurypterid replica than a fossil one...

I was in contact with the VP of sales--he basically said that, since it's out anyway, go at it. LOL. This is funny, isn't it? With the number of reads of this thread at nearly 2000 since September 8th, we all have been discussing and reading about this all week. Don't they read this blog? Certainly, if Safari Ltd wanted to be talked about, releasing three confirmed replicas to me, did part of the trick. When L&P took it upon themselves to post the rest, well that did the trick to reinforce the focus on Safari. This is not to say that they are not to be congratulated for an impressive line. But to place an embargo on info and yet put it into the hands of dealers far and wide, well, it was only a matter of time until all of the WS 2010 images would be out there. How soon until we see the two Carnegie photos? Two days? One week? Two weeks? Loren

If nothing else life sized replicas would be a bit more interesting. (Excluding some such as the Ammonite which were often similar in size)

Are you claiming you can order them now and recieve them now?

Safari did not actually ask Link and Pin to post those photos. They chose to break the embargo, despite explicit instructions to wait. These are the kinds of stunts that may prevent Safari from trusting retailers with "preview" media in the future.

Based on the pictures (from the catalog, not the dark scans) I would say those might be among my favorites for 2010, yes. I think it's a clever idea, and I expect it will be a popular toob when it is released.
