Heh, apparently the people at Safari have merged the best of both BBC's Chased by Sea Monsters and the National Geographic Sea Monsters movie into this toob ;D

Heh, apparently the people at Safari have merged the best of both BBC's Chased by Sea Monsters and the National Geographic Sea Monsters movie into this toob ;D Now, if only they could do a toob based on walking with monsters and prehistoric park... (of course, I am perfectly happy with what we have...)

Minus Xiphactinus, yes.
Ancient Fishes toob idea: Coelacanth, Dunkleosteus, Xiphactinus, Ginsu Shark, Orthacanthus, Hyneria, Tiktaalik, Helicoprion, Stethacanthus, Cephalaspis.

A WwM Hynerpeton and Cephalaspis would be wonderful I wish they released a temnospondyl though, too many plesiosaurs and mosasaurs of late ;D

You'd have to throw in a well known thingy in there too (maybe so kids could relate to the toob), maybe instead of Ginsu shark, have megalodon. Kinda like what they did with the marine toob-- There's at least three great common things in there, so that as kids get the common critters they love, they get obscure things to love too and grow up loving, and then eventually turn into adam... ;D (kidding on that last part of course) EDIT: As for replacing PV, safari still hasn't made a placodus, mixosaurus or shonisaurus that are kaiyodo sized

I'll give you the Placodus, but the last two are just different flavors of icthyosaur.

I provided information, skeletal reconstructions and advice for the Liopleurodon sculpt back in April, so I've been biting my tongue for months. ;D I made a strong case for a new colour scheme and a covering of parasites - the sculptor was game but Safari weren't having any of it for obvious reasons. When the dust has settled on these new releases I'll probably post a blog entry about the whole process The marine beasties tube looks awesome by the way, I wasn't aware of that.

So is the head correct adam? For example, you always not how they don't get the teeth and the fins right on these-- Are they on these new ones? You dirty tongue biter you! ;D ANybody know what order these will be released in? This year it was the Nigersaurus, Tylosaurus (both late jan early feb right?), Scutosaurus(feb), Tapejara(late march, early april), Postosuchus(mid april), and then Spinosaurus(may) right? Hee hee-- I still remember opening up the box that contained my carnegie Tylosaurus and I was thinking how awesome it was

Cordy, the head and teeth are correct and based on the most recent research

Cordy, the head and teeth are correct and based on the most recent research Awesome! It's nice to see a plesiosaurologist's thumbprint left in a figure! Now, safari has to send you one of these right?! If they didn't, my blood would be a boil...

Did you have any say about what went on with the mosasaur? (also, as a side note, last year tomhet said that he wanted a mosasaur for the WS line.. Looks like somebody's wish has been fufilled!)

Ah, now I understand why the liopleurodon looks so much better than the mosasaur. What sort of color scheme had you suggested to them?

;D anything other than WWD blue and white.
I was thinking greens, like a turtle/croc. with some speckled fin rot. But everyone knows Liopleurodon was blue and white and pristine. Seriously - try and imagine a green Liopleurodon - you can't do it!
