Ech, you're right. Bonus points for trying to sway them with the parasites, though. That would have been really interesting to see - maybe I'll mention the idea to Foulkes.

;D anything other than WWD blue and white. Seriously - try and imagine a green Liopleurodon - you can't do it! Erm, ;D ;D Good old Invicta - able to imagine things beyond us mere mortals. But it doesn't look right does it ?

The image of the WwD and CbSM liopleurodon is too imprinted into our minds to imagine any other colour scheme for a pliosaur ;D One of these days people will think there is certain evidence from the fossil record for it ;D

At least it's a nice color scheme - I'm sure we can think of other marine reptile figures who weren't so lucky...

Do I get a cookie?

Greens seem to always find themselves on the lizard-like Mosasaurs rather than the Pliosaurs, but I bet if they had sculpted a Simolestes versus a Liopleurodon the black/white coloration would change dramatically. Companies hear the word Liopleurodon and automatically think "Black and White".

Well, marine lizards probably had different coloration than things that had been living in the water for millions of years before

Well, marine lizards probably had different coloration than things that had been living in the water for millions of years before From that logic all we really need to prove is that most of the earlier organisms were black and white. This way we know that marine reptiles were probably not the same color. ;D Kidding, but I do see your point.

;D anything other than WWD blue and white. I was thinking greens, like a turtle/croc. with some speckled fin rot. But everyone knows Liopleurodon was blue and white and pristine. Seriously - try and imagine a green Liopleurodon - you can't do it! ;D

Thanks for the help.
Wow these all look very cool. I'm a little surprised they went and made a mosasaur after carnegie just pumped out a tylosaurus. But that's ok I guess.
I really like those sauropods. I would have preferred if the apato's neck was lower but its not a huge deal its still loads better than the old green carnegie one. I'm they made an apato. Its a nice solid dinosaur that everyone loves.
The toob! Wow so it is marine stuff. Neato. I love the nothosaurus and the henodus the best. I'm very excited about these guys. Can't wait.

All I can say after viewing the new pics at Link and Pin is "WOW". The Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus are absolutely awesome - if a little too small for the 1/40 scale that they SHOULD have been made for !!! The marine reptiles are done very well - the second best Mosasaur after this year's Safari and second best Liopleurodon after the WWD one. Kentrosaurus is valuable because rare - hard to tell how good it really is from just that one angle, however. The mini tube shows promise - especially for the renderings of some of the small swimmers like "Dolly" the Metriarhynchus. The neck of the Brontosaurus can probably be lowered fairly easily using a hair dryer and a sink full of ice cubes and water, followed by a stint in the freezer. Ditto for any changes you want to make to teh heavier Schliech Bronto version - which actually has a more parallel neck and its tail in the air - so its not completely 'retro' at all. With the Ichytiosaur and Cryolophosaur still to come, this is shaping up as one of the MOST productive off-seasons for the dinosaur collection in many a moon. Looks like Safari is taking a page out of Procon's book in terms of increasing the yearly number of new pieces! Don't care for the Schleich Ankylosaurus, but the Schliech Quetzlacoatlus is one I have been waiting for for a full year - based on the additional photos from the other thread, it will not only be HUGE (13" wide) but far more detailed than its predecessor - a real stunner when its mounted above my Sauropods!!!!!!!!! And Schliech's Brontosaurus may turn out to be the 'sleeper' out of the bunch. Given its size dominating the Safari Camarasuarus on the photo on the other thread, it just might turn into one of those - well, I know its only half accurate, but G-D I MUST have one!!!!!!!!! There are too few 1/40 Sauropods that really convey a MASSIVE animal and the Schleich Bronto looks to fill that gap. The WS Brach would too, were it larger - but we must examine it first hand to make that call!!! Ah - competition is a GREAT thing, isn't it? ??
