So what ya all think? ;D After experimenting with the darker, more subtle paint jobs on the Invicta marine reptiles, I wanted to go back and do something colorful and fun! I like the Safari tylo very much, however, I am not that thrilled by the color scheme on this guy. I think I was just tired of the same color palette, brown, green, black, that Safari has been using on almost all of their new releases ( Diplo, nigera, spino, trike, scuto, posto, all have the same coloration). I wanted something different, something "uber" bright! After making a few design sketches, I settled for this color combination. The Safari Tylo is not the only one receiving a make over from me, but also the CollectA/Procon one, too. He is still waiting to be finished, but it would be different from this one. It would be interesting to see them side-by-side when done, and so with the trio of Invictas, so stay tuned. Here he is: A closer, more personal look ;D And with the original version for comparison Next time, it would be the CollectA Tylo

Woah! Loud! Reminds me of certain varieties of moray eel, very nice. Did you model it on any particular living animal, or was it all from the twisted Boki brain?

Tylosaurus? More like Tigersaurus! HARHARHAR
No seriously though it is very beautiful. You should take your brightly painted marine reptiles and make a hanging mobile or something.

;D I see you've ruined a perfectly good figure. No actually you did a good job. Not as Psychedelic as some of your earlier work. I don't know if its an improvement but its a nice variation.

Just the response I wanted! ;D You are right on, I got the inspiration from watching a dragon moray eel from the fish store when I was shopping for a new fish and corals. Really, this figure is so slender and so much like an eel, that I thought it would be fun ;D So not entirely from my twisted brain ;D

I can't imagine the coral reef size for this colorful guy.

Looks like someone visited a tropical fish tank at the aquarium recently. I agree that the original paint job is a bit blah ... just as this one is 'a bit over-the-top'... toned down a bit it might have looked a little more realistic...

There is just no telling really. Very, very drab, like a big gator, or bright and colorful like some other lizards, I think a good argument can be made for it either way. Besides, I think Boki does his as more "art pieces" than anything else.

A large oceanic shark's coloring would be best-- After all, they filled just about the same niche...

I like what Boki did. I see it as more of an artistic idea than anything else.

They first need to go on a serious RE-SCULPTING spree (and by someone other than that dame with the strange name of Forrest) .... Why? He doesn't like her work. Although to be fair, she only works on the Carnegie line, no other ones.

They first need to go on a serious RE-SCULPTING spree (and by someone other than that dame with the strange name of Forrest) .... Why? We have gone over this MANY times in various threads. Her sculpts of Theropods in particular are inaccurate to the extreme - particularly where the size and width of the legs and feet goes. This also causes all of their Theropods to be unable to stand up, an unintentional "bonus" of her work. She should stick to sculpting her Pixies (how in He** did she get her job with Safari anyways? ) The sculpting ought to be turned over to Jon Rader, or Shane Foulkes or any of a number of good paleosculptors. Its just a sideline to this lady, and the quality of her work shows it.
