Yes, get your torches and pitchforks ready!!! I am not afraid of you!! Do your worst!! "I fart in your general direction you silly English kniggot!!" (from Monty Python and the Holy Grail). What am I talking about? A supreme act of blasphemy. SACRILEGE!!!! I WILL soon be committing a sacrilegeous act with *GASP* a BATTAT!!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned for that one (it will take some deep breathing and a drink to steady the hand before the razor starts in on that project ... I will be 'making' a new Battat, one that Battat didn't make, but should have - and yes, I will be using a DUPLICATE second figure for the Blasphemous Act!!!) Eat your hearts out those who do not have IT, and will have to watch me CUT UP my extra one - I'll post in-progress photos this time!! MUAHAHAHAHA!! Now, since I am a few days away from beginning the project (trust me, holding this figure whist contemplating taking the exacto-knife to it made my heart beat a little faster - like wanting to 'touch up' the Mona Lisa - EGAD!), I would like to ask you to guess: WHICH Battat figure will I be using, and WHAT other dino will I be creating from it? ? P.S. Throwing a brick at your computer screen will only break it. T'won't bother ME a bit!!

Get on with it already, and be sure to give it a less boring paint job!

I Think you will do it with a Battat Diplo or a Battat Acro... if not, maybe a T.rex. To a custom become a sacrilege, that's what must be... If it's the Dippy, I bet you will do a Supersaurus or Seismosaurus... For the Acro... I really don't know what can emerge from! But for this theropod, there is a option to customize... The Salvat Acro... that is a copy of the battat one... good for customs because it is not so beloved ;D;) (sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker... )

Hm. Perhaps Acro -> Spino. Alternatively, one of the ceratopsians could pretty easily be turned into a different species. Maybe a Torosaurus...ahem, Triceratops male.

He's making the acro into a spino. I bet he cuts off the carnegie's head and puts it on the acro's body and makes a sail out of putty Or he's making an all fours dippy-- which would completely ruin the presence and majesty that the standing up version has.

Good guess Radman, I had spoken about wanting to do that about 3 years ago when I DID have 2 Diplos, but then I went and sold off the second one .... G-D it, quit reminding me or I really WILL drop the $$$ I do not currently have to make that one a reality!!! (at which point I will get rid of my Safari walking Diplo.) But NO, that is not it. ;D ;D ;D

Ooh, ooh, Mr. Kotter, I know, I know! You're going to turn the Acro into a Rutiodon!! Ummmm .... no.

Hint:
Kuni: Triceratops and Torosaurus were NOT the same species; else we would have a TON of 'transitional' skulls of Triceratops with holes forming - but we have NONE. The entire theory is just INSANE ...
however ....
Your second guess is ... ummm ... how shall I put it... 'not wrong'?

Actually, on all fours, the Battat would dwarf the Safari. The legs would have to be carefully positioned so as not to make the critter seen too tall on all fours. Not too difficult actually.
I had thought that straightening out the tail a bit would be the major problem, but I just looked at it and that part would actually be easier than the legs ...
..oh and I would probably keep the paint job - make them two of the herd. That would also be the easiest option - just touch up the puttied parts ...
....but that is just dreamland right now.
I am gonna be making some casts of the front of the Trike's frill to see if parts could then be incorporated onto the extended Toro frill so as not to break up the pattern - that came to me today while I was driving (as usual).....

Styracosaurus -> Centrosaurus would be very workable. Also, Battat Styracos aren't THAT hard to come by in comparison to the others. And bucket, we DO have trike frills with thin areas forming, according to Horner's student. But, that's for another thread and you're likely wrong about it anyways, so we'll focus on the conversation at hand!

But, that's for another thread and you're likely wrong about it anyways, so we'll focus on the conversation at hand! Uninterested in the smaller critters, as Procon has done a FINE job supplying those guys the past few years (and I will be converting an extra Procon Acheulosaurus (sp?) into a Diablocentrosaurus. Horner's student is peddling snake oil that even his master is now too careful not to pass off as his own. It is a ridiculous theory and I repeat: Show me a 'transitional' Horridus skull with partially opened holes. Oh. You can't. Because there are none. Despite the hundreds of Trike skulls found to date. I see. Thank you. The prosecution rests, Your Honor. P.S. I don't appreciate your slightly condescending tone, regardless of what you may or may not have hanging on your wall. "I am likely wrong about it"? NO. It is you, Sir, who is MOST DEFINITELY WRONG ABOUT IT. Or do I need to link again to my article logically demolishing Horner's earlier theory about scavenging-only TRexes? This theory has even LESS of a leg to stand on because there is no evidence - ZERO for it. And don't hold your breath waiting for it to show up either, Prof Einstein. I have this thing called Occam's razor, see, and I use it mercilessly on the clueless. While I concede that "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" - you have no evidence. So ... please stop embarrassing yourself by repeating this grad-student science fiction and keep quiet. Ornery enough for you? Don't mess with Leroy Brown.

If that's the case, perhaps you are converting an acro into one of the 'smaller' spinosaurids/baryonychids? As there are several to pick from, I would hazard Baryonyx, Suchomimus or Irritator.

bucket: Let's give it a year or so for the paper to come out, and then we'll see who's "MOST DEFINITELY WRONG", eh?

bucket: Let's give it a year or so for the paper to come out, and then we'll see who's "MOST DEFINITELY WRONG", eh? Triceratops' skulls go back several million years prior to the first Torosaurus skull. Yet no Toro skulls til just before K/T. Hmmmmm....how are we gonna 'spin' that one, Jack?? (Horner) Sounds to me like just another sub-species 'spin-off', not a male/female difference.....
