;D I recently found this big lizard in my back yard! I was afraid it would eat somebodys pet or a small child, so I had to get rid of it. It put up quite a fight.

Despite his annoying habit of asking questions about everybody's posts, Stoneage is rapidly becoming one of my favorite DTF members! ;D

Sure, we might not always see eye to eye on certain dinosaur-related things, but then I know I'm right, so... Looking forward to seeing the robo-dinos as well.

This is perhaps the first salamander I've encountered despite living here for over 6 years. I present the slimy salamander, Plethodon glutinosus: I found him while moving one of my bird-of-paradise plants. He is fairly large ~5 inches (12cm) and can move quite rapidly. He was kind enough to hold still for a few shots, then he shot away into the leaf litter. He also lived up to his common name - I had to wash my hands twice to remove the slime. Regardless of that, he is quite a beautiful specimen - deep blue/purple with abundant white spots.

Well, he looks exceedingly still, that's for sure. So obliging of him to remain in that precise posture for all three angles you took of him...
He also appears to have a marvellously light tread. He barely touches the ground there... ;D
You're fooling us again, aren't you? *narrows eyes* ;D

Seriously, he was plenty slimy. Sorry again, about the monitor, although it's getting plenty of fun with Halloween coming up tomorrow. We live in a very kid-centric neighborhood. Happy Halloween everyone!

Wow what a beautiful representation of a Slimy Salamander! I have found some before but they aren't as healthy looking as that one. Lets hope it survives. It breaks my heart when i find squished herps on the road.

Look at what I found in my backyard! Wait...museum of hoaxes? Now I are suspicious, sir. That, and the amphibian has been extinct since the Permian. Y'know.
