Umm, how about Strike one! Many of the bug pictures are in the front yard. Nice try, though.

I just can't believe I've been ignoring all the wildlife photography in this thread...maybe I should go out into my garden and create a thread called "Boring Wildlife of Britain" ;D Boring to you perhaps...exotic to me. ;D Western Conifer Seed Bug.

A hedgehog? Not really a match for a monitor lizard. (Not as interesting to look at, either. Arf!)

I don't have to show you any stinkin' badgers! ;D Sorry 'bout dat, couldn't resist!! I really do love badgers, though. They live here in Missouri but I never get to see them in town.

Respect the hedgehog, please! I held one dying in my arms a month back and I'll have to live with that forever... They're not doing so well lately, it seems. Only a few years before the hedgehog ranks up there with Steller's Sea Cow, The Ivory Billed Woodpecker and the Tasmanian Tiger... Sad times we live in.

Well, don't know if I should be a spoil sport or not, but those monitors that radman and gwangi showed in their backyards are actually Varanus vinylensis. Get my drift? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Say no more? ;D And yes we would like to see hedgehogs, we don't have them here.

Ummm...about the monitor lizard, it's a toy. ;D Posted jokingly of course, I think it had been long enough to finally spill the beans. Trust me, people living in other parts of the world probably think the wildlife you find fascinating is boring as well. I used to think the wildlife around my home was boring myself but as I got older I came to appreciate what we have and I realize other people elsewhere would probably love to see once what I get to see daily. Hedgehogs are awesome, I would love to see one in the wild.

Wow, love the pic. She, (he) is so cute. Which ones are they? I know how hard it can be to photograph raccoons, you're lucky.

This is two of 4 Brendalets. Some pix of Brenda and one other Brendalet are on the previous pages. Notice how the one in the background is much darker. They are very cute. My neighbors complained about raccoons in the yard so I had to stop feeding them. They still come by though, but it's been later and later so I can't stay up to wait for them.

Badman! ;D ;D Hoo-yeah, I was just messin' with y'all, havin' some fun! Hope y'all enjoyed it; I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I bought this guy on my birthday for 99 cents - no one else bid on it. It arrived at my house like this: I'm glad the mailperson still delivers to my house; usually wierd boxes from the far east and now a giant lizard chewing its way out of the box - bless the USPS! Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed a good chuckle. ;D

But I knew there were no new world monitors. And it looked familiar from gwangi. Just like we have had escaped ostriches here, someone found a nest about 4 blocks away with an egg in it!!!

Yeah, to be honest, I just saw a lizard and wasn't really paying attention...cough. It could've been an escapee! It's a pretty convincing toy anyway. You should leave it lying around in a busy street, hide nearby and have a giggle at people's reactions.

Just minutes ago I had a visit from one of the local opossums. Remarkably white face. Didn't stick around long enough for a photo. They don't play dead for me, just run away when I open the door.
