This thread is image intensive - apologies to dial up users
All of my figures are now uploaded. I'm missing the Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus and Brachiosaurus So, if anyone has these please feel free to add them.
Today my able assistant is Bob, Britains 1970's 1/32 head zoo keeper. Later images are assisted by Bert, my resident theropod handler.
There are some basic issues with these figures which were released throughout the 1990's.
They are prone to being shipped in a warped condition. Not a major problem but you can get a bit of a shock when you take an affected figure out of it's box for the first time. Kaiyodo obviously expected this and each figure came with an instruction sheet in Japanese explaining how to correct warped extremities with a hairdryer (although my own preference is the near boiling water then cold water plunge technique ) I haven't gotten around to fixing any of these figures yet so you will notice the extent of possible warping on some figures.
Secondly, like Bullyland figures they're prone to paint rubs. They weren't packed that well in the factory boxes (most were just in a cellophane bag) and they tend to rattle around in the boxes. Most of my figures are new but have been sitting around in storage for years and hence have a few rubs that I haven't fixed yet.
Kaiyodo produced a large line of these figures predominantly in kit form but I'm only really interested in the pre made figures for the purpose of this thread. I will list all of the models made available but not all of these garage type kits were available as pre made figures, at least not for export outside of Japan. Also, these finished models were available in different paint schemes although, by and large, the paint schemes are a bit basic in my opinion and certainly don't match more recent Kaiyodo model releases. That said, they do have a charm that is of their time.
These figures are now scarce. They were produced in very small numbers and were expensive in their day and consequently are costly now. The kits are easier to source and regularly pop up on Ebay but even these seem to be increasing in price. In terms of the pre made figures, you can pick them up for around the £30 mark for the commoner ones. The sought after figures such as the 1/20 Rexes and Allo will set you back between £100 - £150 each. There are some really nice ultra rare paint scheme versions of these which would no doubt cost silly money but such is life I guess.
All of the pre-made figures come with a wooden plinth barring the Brachiosaurus which was deemed too large for a plinth to be economical! The final production run of the 1/35 2nd Rex and Allo came with a metal support rather than wooden plinth (as seen in my pictures below).
I hope that this lot helps anyone out there interested in these figures. Apologies for my clumsy photos and upload sizing issues. I know they're large and we're all accustomed to 'nano' figures these days but once you're in the zone, they really are great figures to own and admire despite being tough to source.
Here's a complete list of vinyl figures made available:

This figure went into production in 1994 however the plug was pulled by Kaiyodo at least before any international orders were fulfilled. A few are rumoured to have been produced but I've never seen it anywhere and have never heard of anyone owning it, either as a kit or pre-made. Anyone know anything different?
Uncertain Production Status
Duncleosteus
This figure was announced for release in 1993/94 but seems to have fallen by the wayside. Anyone know anything of this?

This figure was re-issued in 2001in a limited run with a great repainted colour scheme. It was considerably cheaper than the original issue due to Kaiyodo transferring their manufacturing to China. It sold out very quickly and now commands stupid prices on Ebay Here's a picture from the internet:
Kaiyodo Aqualand - Pre Made Resin Figures
I only have one of these figures. I guess this doesn't really belong here but I've added this as fellow DTF members have an interest in this series

I got a shock when I looked at this catalogue and noticed the date, 1986 Some of these sculpts are over 20 years old and therefore easily predate Jurassic Park! Kaiyodo definitely set the standards for dino models in their day.
Here's a scan of Kaiyodo's 1996 catalogue (note the colour schemes used on the stock models). The catalogue includes resin and vinyl kits as well as resin skeleton/skull kits and 100mm figures:
I'm unable to find a date on the catalogue this page comes from however it looks to be late 1990's. The remaining 3 pages of this catalogue cover the Aqualand range. Great paint job on the 1/20 Allo.
