Woah...I guess you mean in general because if Papo made a frilled Dilo I would be in shock at how awesome it would be... ;D ;D ;D P.S.: Check the DTF regularly and you can see most of the newly released figures on personal photos. Some member always has them long before they're available in the shops .

Some member always has them long before they're available in the shops . I did, but I don't recall seeing any "overhead" shots that would have illustrated the narrow hips ... (OK, now be a wise guy and link me to just such a photo I must have missed, go ahead, I dare you ... )

Coming Winter 2011 This one is only being distributed by Sideshow. Someone else was responsible for creating it, hence the lack of "Dinosauria" logo.

They're doing the Gnu thing. No Deinosuchus around this time . I'd like to see it from the other side.

What bugs me is the overall design/layout. It seems lopsided? Just awkward.

Can't say I'm that big a fan either, although I always preferred the 'cheeks' rather than 'just lips' look.

Same here. There is another one swimming in the back which doesn't looks as bad as the others. Still I know they were going for wildebeest or zebra mass crossing feel...it just seems very strained. I don't think hadrosaurs could even climb a rock face like that... :? From this angle it's almost ok : I can't find any info on the artist or even the company really though. :/

Papo Embraces Accuracy?
It seems to me that forum members have become excessively harsh in their overall critique of all things Papo, despite Papo's recent move towards embracing accuracy. Papo's latest "resin-like" designs, the Styracosaurus (inspired by Sideshow) and Ankylosaurus (inspired by Shane Foulkes) have had, at most, one or two academic blunders per model, including, possibly the long neck and/or short tail of the Styracosaurus, and the not-so-wide hips of Euoplocephalus (these recent scientific inaccuracies do not appear as egregious as the "fossilized horns" of Triceratops, teeth on the Pterandon or Hadrosaur, and the bare-naked Oviraptor).
In fact, the number of inaccuracies found on the recent Papo models would put them on roughly equal footing with Safari Ltd. in terms of anatomic representation. Giganotosaurus had scrawny legs. Guanlong has oversized hands and feet, and Spinosaurus w/ blunted teeth.
...so what's your take...Is Papo incrementally moving towards the accuracy route. Anatomically impartial Papo models in 2012 or pop-culture inspired designs for their next shipment??

A cool touch would have been to paint the skin a dark shiny brown where they had been splashed with water. Would have really added realism I think. Maybe it looks better in person.

I don't know..pieces usually look a little worse in person you know ?
If it had 100.00 or so then they would have had an excuse..but really ? 300 ? I think SS is just carrying this to make their own pieces look even better.. lol

Hm, the heads look very strange and in my opinion there are too many body folds

I like the concept (such an overused/ abused word, but I may as well use it here) of that Parasaurolophus group, but like others, I'm not persuaded by its overall design. Only Favorite and David Krentz have got the wide ankylosaur hips right so far. Nobody else has, not even beloved Carnegie, so I neither expected Papo to do so nor to penalise them for the fault. I have the Papo 'Ankylocephalus', by the way, and I like it.

The Battat Euplocephalus has some pretty wide hips. ;D

True, I'd forgotten Battat. Nobody else in recent production has them right, then.

I'll be buying the Papo "Ankylosaurus" too, even though it's rather...wrong. Sometimes aesthetic qualities do win the day for me. Believe it or not.
