Well, here I go again... Let me start by saying there's a reason I like Collectas: the OF paintjobs are so boring even my efforts are an improvement! Still, not 100% happy with this guy even after more than a week of painting. It might have something to do with my total inability to do color... This one I like a little better. He's one of the Dinoking mini action figures, with an articulated neck and tail. Once I'd fixed that there was really no point in restoring the original color, so I decided to try my hand at stripes. (Because apparently I'm some kind of masochist?) Anyway, almost done - still needs some work on the tail stripes etc. And because I'm still trying to figure out stripes, I couldn't resist trying to copy the pattern on my new Kaiyodo Allo. Homage or shameless plagiarism?

You are henceforth forbidden from demeaning your work. ;D These are all beautiful! I love the stripes on the Dinoking rex(?) and the frill on the Styracosaurus.

These are all nicely done and clearly an homage on the white allo. Esp love the pouncing rex, although that is one chunky monkey. Definitely a scavenger (waddles up to dromeaosaur kill, roars, takes nap).

You are henceforth forbidden from demeaning your work. ;D I will second that. This is really great work, and I particularly like the Styracosaurus.

Nice work, and brave of you to work on such small figures! I like the styraco, I think you did a great job on the repaint. He is on my list of figures to repaint, I'm just putting it off due to the size ;D

Aww, thanks! I have no real sense of color, so I guess there's nothing to do but practice, practice, practice. Luckily there's some awesome art out there to copy from! I liked this stripey pattern so much I painted it twice. First on a little Bullyland model (and you thought Dinokings were small?)... ... and then on the 4D knockoff, with a little twist. I originally used the same color scheme, but it wound up looking a bit boring on a bigger model. These are all nicely done and clearly an homage on the white allo. Esp love the pouncing rex, although that is one chunky monkey. Definitely a scavenger (waddles up to dromeaosaur kill, roars, takes nap). Definitely! I used to think my Dinoking Daspleto was a heavyweight - in that case, this one's a sumo wrestler! ;D

By the by, is your copy of that encyclopaedia the larger one? Mine is the smaller. I'd much prefer having the Csotonyi illustrations much larger. ;D

Nah, it's what we librarians like to call "regular book size" . I do have a bigger and abbreviated version, The world of the dinosaurs (ISBN 978-1-84476-375-7), but unfortunately it has only about one page per genus, so you don't get very many of the illustrations.

New 'n' improved title... ;D And I thought I had a pic that showed the size of the micro Bully, but apparently not. I'll say that this model is 5.5 cm from head to tailtip (Dinoking Daspleto is 10 cm) and so works as a same-scale juvenile. The chunky build and big head seem to support this interpretation - you say sloppy sculpting, I say immaturity.

The chunky build and big head seem to support this interpretation - you say sloppy sculpting, I say immaturity. But young tyrannosaurs were more gracile than the adults... Hnnngghh I'M SORRY!

Finally got started on my Favorite Allo (it's so much easier when you don't have a plan). I sort of like the white over black pattern, but what do you think - should I add some stark black areas? On the head maybe?

I'd make the blue patches on the side a little darker - as is, it looks like they're smeared with white paint a little! I really like all the white dinosaurs you've done, though
