Brontozaurus: which museum? The Australian Museum in Sydney. It renovated in 2008 and made a new permanent dinosaur exhibition, with a quite nice section on Australian dinosaurs and fossils. It is also significant in that the first two dinosaur skeletons at the entrance are Jobaria and Afrovenator, two rather unlikely choices. I went to the museum today, and on the way out I ended up getting a Procon Agustinia. I would have bought a Papo Allosaurus were it not for my love of obscure genera being represented in toy form. (also the Allosaurus was more expensive) It's different from the one reviewed on the blog. For one, its mouth is closed, and it is brown rather than green. It is also notable for being the first dinosaur model I have gotten in about a year. Any other dinosaurs I have obtained recently have been Transformers. The Big Agustinia is my favorite Procon figure, its just an amazing figure and species ;D Perhaps someday they would redo the head, my only complaint about the figure. I can't believe no one has produced it before ;D Thinking about it, yeah, it is unusual, considering how it looks. Why we haven't gotten a Chinasaur Agustinia with gigantic spikes all over it is beyond me. Lucky you. I wish my museum had more dinosaur toys. *SIGH* Well congrats anyway. Yeah, the NHM in London only has Toyway monstrosities now, such as their zipper-mouthed Tyrannosaurus, bunny-handed Megalosaurus and various toothy Chinasaur things. Pretty bad. I got the Diplodocus/Kentrosaurus from there, and I have to say I actually quite like them, despite the pairing of those two being odd to say the least. The Diplodocus is currently one of the larger dinosaurs in my collection. I think DK uses actual models for their photo illustrations. I know they did in their older books. Whether they've kept doing it I'm not sure, but I do like the models.

I think, that if schleich had made the edmontosaurus a quadruped, it would be 10x better...

I think, that if schleich had made the edmontosaurus a quadruped, it would be 10x better... Well, it's still a quadruped, regardless of whether it is standing up to sniff the air or not. . I like the upright posture, which has previously been mostly reserved for Parasaurolophuses (Pararasaurolophi ?). Apart from the Schleich Cory and Ourano, and I, guess the Carnegie, Procon and Bully Iguano, I can't think of any other non- Para duckbills in the the upright position

They clearly seemed to think of edmontosaurus as a biped! I think the whole "sniffing the air" thing is a scam But if you're happy with it that's all that matters

Sculpting an Ornithischian in an upright position may look a bit less dull if its head and neck are positioned in more of an alert pose; almost as if the Edmontosaurus, etc has an eagle eye on its surroundings. Of course, achieving this without the "sniffing the air" look may be a bit difficult.

I bought this Tyrannosaurus statue at Petsmart of all places last weekend! It was $20 and was brought out for aquariums, but it's going on a shelf as a part of my collection.

Hmmm? Sticking that thing in a fish tank seems like a sure-fire way to giving those little tropical hearts a huge tropical heat attack! Odd that they wouldn't have a prehistoric marine reptile of sorts or a megalodon for an aquarium. Then again, fish aren't the only thing you can put in an aquarium. Uhhh..... never mind. ;D

At least Leo my lizard who was buried in my backyard is looking down at me. * starts to cry.*

This lot. I have the capture gear for the JP figs but not the human or his accessories. The Triceratops says "copyright ELC" on the bottom - I thought it was a Safari. Anyone? It has a bit of a cheap feel but is surprisingly accurate with it.

Ah Yes, the ol' ELC Trike. Comes directly from the Early Learning Center in the UK. Accuracy is good--but is hollow with a seam down the center of its belly. Good detail and surprisingly large at around 13 inches long. I still have another one in my collection if anyone wants it--just let me know, thanks!

That's a good point--the great dinosaurs trike is very similar to the ELC. I know for a fact that the ELC has been out much longer so maybe Safari did acquire the mold from them. Obviously the ELC looks much better but size is in fact similar.......Good observation!

The ELC Triceratops has been out longer, you say? Wasn't expecting that. Maybe Safari actually manufacture both, and always have, and it's just being sold under different branding.

It's always possible. Only WS is only in the USA, right? If not then it probably is the same by WS, and labeled by ELC in England. Quite possible....By the way, anyone want the ELC one out there??? I have no room for it and it is new in packaging.
