I got this figure today. Does anyone know anything about it and what species it represents? Whoever made this one, it´s nice and probably something for www.palaeofreak.net ;D This figure is a premium for the Radio Show of 1934-1935 called Og, Son Of Fire. So it is 75 years old. The figure is a little chunk of history. Libby's Milk sponsored the show and the lead figurine was produced by Lincoln Logs. There is a book, which I have, and 5 other figures. I also have the figure Og ( A Caveman) and Ru (His Caveman Sidekick). The show was a series much like the TV series the Lost World. Unfortunately there are no surviving recordings that we know of. Remember this took place during the Depression before anyone on this blog was born. So all that remain are the figureswith cannisters, an Adventures of Og map and a simple board game with spinner. It takes place curing the Ice Age more or less with mostly prehistoric animals like Mammoths and Smilodons. However in the book their is a Stegosaur (Illustration) that lives in a cave and appears to be predatory. This Dinosaur is called Three Horn making it a Triceratops. As you can see it is totally incorrect much like the old Iguanodon figure with the spike on the end of it's nose. There also was a Rex figure. All the other figures are cave people. Nada the cave girl is scared all the time and needs to be protected, and Tao another sidekick who hasa bow and arrow. "All six Libby's Lincoln Logs metal figures from radio's 'Og, Son of Fire' serial. Original mailers include the only known Three Horn in its shipping box. A complete set, as shown, is valued at more than $3,000. A major rarity This is the book I have. I originally read this story in a library book that came in 1965 which I loved. For more information I suggest this site which has many links www.trussel.com/prehist/crump/ogs.htm

The Ice Age 3 DVD mentions it's a Baryonyx, though it's like twice as big as a T-Rex in that movie so that seems a bit unrealistic. Oh, cool. Have to admit I'm not 100% sure about the difference between Suchos and Barys... is it just geography, or do they have any unique distinguishing features? Sucho is from Africa and Bary was found in England I'm pretty sure. Both lived at the same time and Sucho is a little longer. Some scientists think that they are the same thing.

Wow, Stoneage, congratulations. Such a great find there! Did you pay too much for the figure? Yes probably! Og figures usually go for about $60. I got my two cavemen for $30 which is pretty good especially since the paint is still near mint. I really wanted this because by modern terms it is so retro. It was for sale in a set of 4 Og figures, buy it now for $240. I believe the dinosaurs are much rarer then the cavemen. You rarely see them. Anyway it cost me $105. I made a bid of $105 with 10 seconds left. It had been $102.50. I was shocked when I won.

Score!! I'm visiting family this week, and they live in a city with a Toys R Us... (I always feel a little bit strange going there, it reminds me I'm actually a real toy collector - as opposed to someone who just happens to buy a toy every now and then.) Anyway, I wanted to look for Dinokings... and boy did they have 'em! Unfortunately, what they had were multiples of the molds I already had, but I did finally manage to get my hands on a Suchomimus. The real surprise, however, was waiting for me in the Schleich section. Not only did they have the entire Replicasaurus line, but they also had Collectas! In addition to a few singles, there were packs of three and six very reasonably priced. In the end, I opted for the sixpack containing Agustinia, Cryolophosaurus, TRex, Lexovisaurus, Olorotitan, and Nothronychus - all those together cost less than one 1:40 Schleich, and at that price I'm willing to overlook the bad paintjobs and slight wonkiness. Edit: Just discovered the box includes a little booklet showing all the Collecta dinos. How very thoughtful! *starts compiling wishlist*

Lucky you. I study in a city with a Toys R Us and they've got bugger all on offer (a few small Schleichs and that's it). I recently gave in and ordered the big JP rex online...

Not really new, since I got it about a week ago through eBay and I haven't been a member of the forum then. A nice piece of art in my opinion - I like the Kaiyodo style . Too bad these figures are so long out of production. Any Dilophosaurus with a nicer crest? Attachments:

There's a vintage Tyrannosaurus, can't remember who it's by, on the left. The one with the bizarre space-alien feet. Other than that it just looks like a lovely bunch of Chinasaurs. EDIT: Is there a Batatt Acro in there...? If so then you were definitely after that. If that is not a Battat Acro (given the rest of the lot, it seems so unlikely), then my guess would be the WwD Leallynasaura near the middle right (at least, that's what it looks like from the photo). Or it could be the Safari Authentics Plesiosaurus (I think--middle left). I will admit to being intrigued by the yellow raptor-like dino in the middle. Sorry to dig up this old topic, but I got that load of dinosaurs in today (the pics of it are still on page 220). The yellow Raptor is quite a neat little figure, and belongs to this set made by 'Scientific Toys Ltd.' I never heard of them, but these figures are rather good. Does this info help you out?
