Hey Bronto, I currently have 312 pieces in my Prehistoric world diorama in my garage. Most are in 1-40 scale or close. I have 108 different dinosaur species and a total of 173 species if you include other extinct creatures. In addition I have approx. 100 pieces that either didn't make the grade or have been replaced by (what I consider) superior pieces. i keep a running list that is constantly being updated. Until i found this site, I thought I was the only one this wierd.

Papo plesio OMG, what have they created!? LOL! ;D Love the head, but the tail? What's up with the chicken tail thing? LOL! I miss the old quality of Papo, all the new ones are not as highly detailed and crafted as the older ones Also got the Safari prehistoric sea life toob. Now that is one cool set of prehistoric critters! Just wish they were bigger.

I always wanted to check how many dinosaur taxa my collection includes but I guess it will be less than 108. But hey that's a good idea... give me a second... Okay, I have 86 if I counted correctly. That needs to be improved.

I use a fairly large database to keep track--currently I have 147 dinosaurs represented (not all are of great quality) in various sizes and sets. Including all extinct animals, my collection contains 454 different taxa. Plus another 16 recently extinct animals (quagga, dodo, that sort of thing).

As far as i know about sauropods' feet, they got 'em (mostly) right, just one thumb spike for the hands and 3 big claws plus 2 lil' nails for the feet

There shouldn't be any extra nails (I don't care what Griffin says ) but other than that it sounds like an improvement. I'm guessing it doesn't have concave 'hands' but that's the norm.

I just bought a lot of random dinosaurs on eBay for $40. This lot happened to have a Battat Triceratops and Stegosaurus, along with two original Carnegie Collection Allosauruses.

This thread reminds me--I have photos of the animals from the Innovative Kids' "Gone Extinct" book set. Yes, I know, most of them are not exactly going to set the world aflame with their awesomeness--these are not exactly Safari. Or even PV or K&M. But at least they exist. Of most interest: Arthropleura Opabinia Brachauchenius: The rest of the set (and others, from other sets) can be seen here: picasaweb.google.ca/HyenaSean/InnovativeKidsToobs#

I can say I was pretty pissed to say the least since I had the seller put that buy it now option on there....
