Picked up these cheapies yesterday. I don't buy every chinasaur I see (honestly, I don't!) but something about them caught my eye. I wouldn't say they're good, but I'm a sucker for models that show the maker at least tried to go beyond "vaguely animal-shaped blob". I'm guessing this is supposed to be a tyrannosaur of some kind, but I wouldn't have known except for the two-fingered hands. Something about the head... it's not bad, just doesn't look like the species it's meant to be. There are teeth, just not very well painted, and the inside of the mouth and throat is astonishingly detailed for such a cheap little model. Lovely crocodile-style scales along the back too. All the cheapo Dilophosaurus models I've seen have been of the "generic theropod w/ added crests" variety, but this one looks like they've actually done a little research. At least they got the long neck right, and - I'm not sure it shows in the photo - there are traces of the characteristic notch in the upper jaw. And just how often do you find an Amarga in these lots, anyway?

Lol! I sold a lot with that figure in it - and about 12 other invictas and only got around 20 bucks. Fortunes of Ebay.

There was a group of three painted invicta sauropods that went for $9 last week on ebay.uk. My Lio was $15 including shipping. Good time to be buying, anyway.

Yes, I finally got the rex. I had one already, but that one I'm going to CM into a running, mouth closed rex (someday), since his tail doesn't fit together right and the paint on his face is a bit sloppy. I wanted another one to be my untouched original. This is definitely my favorite non-resin trex. I held off on the styracosaur for a while because it looked anorexic. Now that I have him you are right, I am not disappointed. The anorexic look is much less noticeable in person, to me anyway, because the figure is just so big. I am looking forward to receiving my new herd of ornithopods as well.

Finally got my Dixon dinosaur encyclopedia, and wow! It's everything I'd hoped for, and so well illustrated! Also finally tracked down a book I've been hunting for the last five years or so: Dinosaurs past and present. I first checked it out of the campus library when I started university and some of the illustrations stuck in my head - so much that they were literally the only thing I remembered about the book. I'd given up ever finding it again when someone (on TetZoo, I think) mentioned a familiar-sounding painting and the title of the book it appeared in, and... voila! This time I'll be sure to remember the ISBN before I return the book.

Carnegie Amargasaurus, a nice little figure... I think it's one of their best figures. Also, it seems the new 2010 releases aren't the only ones getting the stamp treatment from Safari. I was inspecting a fresh flock of Microraptor today, and noticed four digits on the caudal fan. I'm not too bothered by it personally, though.

Great figure!! Is it expensive? Does it come in other colours? What's the size of it? Scale? Will you sent it to me? ;D It's quite small; about 22cm long. Perhaps you or some other obliging member will work out the scale. ;D Something like (utterly wild guess) 1:80 or 1:90? I'm hopelessly unmathematical. That's the only question I can answer, I'm afraid. I don't know about any of the others, as it was a gift from Blackdanter and I'd never known of Bandai figures before (typically). The feet are incorrect, but I love it. I'd like to know if it comes in other colours too, though I'm thinking about painting this one someday. I would guess, as with so many things from Japan, that it's pretty hard to get now without tearing a hole in one's pocket (especially if one lives in Europe). My own searches have yielded nothing. Oh, the other answer I can give is: no, I'm afraid I cannot send it to you. ;D So sorry. ;D Oh, and I meant to say, enjoy your trip, Boki; it sounds wonderful! That figure has 4 different color: a blue, green, brown, and red. I have them all
