Today I got the Collecta Cycad. IT's amazing, and big!! Much bigger than I imagined.

It's not a bad pose. Choices are a bit limited if you are making a bipedal theropod toy (at least, if you want it to be able to stand).

And,isn't the design and production time for the figures a bit on the longer side. Papo would have had, what, a year since the release of WS preview pics to decide to do it, design and sculpt it mold it approve it, and run production? I don't know, but that seems rushed.

Finally got me a mint condition (unpainted) Invicta Cetiosaurus. YAY!!!! ;D Now I have all their sauropods (also mint!) except the Brachi (which I'm still debating about -- I think he looks a bit cartoony! *ducks & covers*)

The Invicta Brachio IS a bit rough. But, considering it's time period, and reconstructions back then, I think that can be forgiven. It is massive, though. Quite a hunk of plastic.

Along with the Cetiosaurus I would say the Brachiosaurus is one of the most accurate Invicta sauropods. At least it's tail clears the ground and it's neck is not bent in some unusual way (Mamechi).

The head seems large, and all Invicta feet are totally wrong. Just saying. But ya gotta consider the times, too.

I'm not saying they're not without their inaccuracies but hell, they're still making sauropods with incorrect feet. I say the Invicta Brachio was ahead of it's time.

My favorite invicta sauropod is still the diplo If the tail had been raised off the ground and the feet corrected, it would be a really elegant figure IMO. EDIT: Well, more elegant. It was made in 1974 (at a time, I might add, when most other toy companies were still making "brontosaurus"), so like others have said the tail and feet issues can be forgiven. Aside from than those two things, I think it still holds up well to our modern view of the diplo.

This. Apparently it was painted by one Niroot Puttapipat (who he?). ...and the Schleich Parasaurolophus.

Very nice and natural, Niroot! I saw the other pics too. That's a very handsome Rex! If you ever have a lull in your current work, maybe David or Angie could get you in on the next Dino Doc. I can see you painting and texturing alongside Angie! ;D

Thank you both!
Chuck, that's hugely flattering of you! But I'd be utterly useless because I have no digital skills at all, unfortunately.
