It looked pretty good..I watched it on repeat after we got home from the haunt. I can't figure why SyFy didn't try this already...lol

I saw and I liked it. I was dissapointed by the start of it, with the little zombie girl... sound too close to the start of "Dawn of the dead" remake...
But after that, Imy fear of it not being good fade away. I suspect I'm gonna become a huge fan of this series. It's infintely better than a lot of zombie flicks (infinitely better than the ultra-crappy last movies of Romero... bleh!)
I have read all the comics to date, btw. So I kinda know the story. But seems that they are going to change things on the series so the comic readers will be surprised and won't get bored knowing what's going to happen.
And just for the record, the guy waking up on a hospital froma coma, to discover a zombie apocalypse, was in the original comic BEFORE the "28 weeks later" flick. So hands down to WALKING DEAD, buddies!

It was interesting they covered themselves with dead material so they would smell like the other zombies.. " he was an organ donor " heh heh
I'm always amused by what something that is dead or undead can do..so far these zombies can walk / sort of run , smell living things, see, and still use tools.

I's going to be a very good series because the script on the original comics is superb. I can tell I've watched thousands of zombie films and read a lot of comics on the genre, and still the WALKING DEAD comics surprised me and let me without knowing what's gonna happen next. That's saying A LOT in a genre where everything is repetitive and uninspired. And the second episode was great. I am a huge fan of this series already. The zombies seem to be GEORGE ROMERO's like, but from the first movie NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Some of them who weren't too damaged were able to sorta run (though not too fast or elegantly, though) and use tools (the first zombie in that movie used a rock to break a car window). Overall they are pretty dumb and mostly slow -anybody can run faster than them, if needed-. Not dangerous if alone, but extremely dangerous when in hordes.

They remind me a lot of the Left 4 Dead Zombies...one may have inspired the other.
Remember Dan, Scifi Channel used to make some good series..and to a point still makes some fairly interesting ones. A series set in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse would have been great for them. I'm betting it was more about cost..Syfy as you said has been pretty cheap for a bit now.

You guys watched the DEAD SET miniseries?
That one was excellent too. Highly recommended if you are lucky enough to be able to see it for the first time.

I really like this show. I think it's very well done! I love shows about surviving apocalypses (apocalypti?).

I think it would be Post-Apocalyptic themed shows..lol
A lot of people like them...they figure to some degree they as individuals or humanity would survive.. no matter what happens..nice thought..not very realistic. ;D

I think it would be Post-Apocalyptic themed shows..lol A lot of people like them...they figure to some degree they as individuals or humanity would survive.. no matter what happens..nice thought..not very realistic. ;D What's not realistic? The zombies? ;D Or you mean the existence of survivors? We are a friggin lot, surely the 5% of humans would survive (at least) to a massive cathastrophe. Of course thinking that ME would be one of the chosen ones is not realistic. Most probably, we all would be a part of the zombie horde. But becoming a zombie is not too attractive -unless you dress cool and can talk and kick some asses like Eric Draven- so of course the protagonists on these zombie movies are always the survivors. It really really fun to imagine what one would do then. Of course what one would need would be 300 years of therapy ;D but imagining for a second that survival insticts keep you sane enough to react, then it's an awesome and really attractive scenario. Think about it: you have all the THINGS you desire all for yourself, and also you can SHOOT disgusting persons whitout you becoming a bad guy. It's every teen dream. Well, of course that dream to be perfect you still need an nymphomaniac Eve. Who of course will love you since you are the last geek alive in the world. (The geeker one is, the more horrible the apocaypse must be to justify a bimbo can be interested ;D ) The most realistic movie ever was THE ROAD. And people hated that movie because they find it depressing (sorry but if you are depressive it's not cinema's fault... go choose your food better, dude). THE ROAD was an almost perfect movie. Want realism? Go to the road. Want fun? Go zombie.

I was referring to the existence of survivors no matter what happens....alien attacks, viral outbreaks, natural disasters, the earth itself being destroyed and yes..even zombies... humanity pushes on. The thought that one day there will be no humans really seems to bother a lot of people... lol

The last one I saw was Shaun of the Dead. It sucked. No wait, it was funny. No, it sucked. Funny. Sucked. Funny. Sucked. AAAARRRGH!! The last apocalypse one I watched was 2012. It was freaking awesome.

"2012" awesome, and "Shaun of the Dead" sucked? Blade, my point was humans we are many. Even if the 99% dissapeared, still a bunch of humans could surely survive some way or another... (yes: for a time) But I get your point. I liked the "Future is Wild" series because it depicted a non-human future.

Foxilized: 2012 awesome, yes. Shaun of the Dead, as I said, was funny, then sucked, then was funny, then sucked. Wait, scrap that. Let's just say I can't make up my mind about it, eh?
Sbell: Seriously? You don't know ONE person who liked 2012? No jokes? Wow, just...wow. I actually cannot describe how strange that sounds to me. Are you SURE we were watching the same film? You were not just watching the obligatory Asylum Films ripoff? No? Wow. Was I watching the ripoff, which was actually better than the real film? I don't know. I just loved it. It was a great film to me. But, hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion, eh?

So yea, I really like this show. Maybe the best zombie film fiction? Besides the classic Romero joints. I just find it more believable than even a lot of non-supernatural shows. Excited to see where the story goes...

Hey, back from the dead myself, heh, heh!
I am loving this show! I hope AMC picks it up for a series. So far, it's just a 6-week mini-series. Have you guys checked out the behind-the-scenes shorts on their site? Pretty cool!
Yeah, SyFy channel's weekly movies are usually crap (next weekend: Triassic Attack!). But, some of their weekly series are pretty well-done. I've been a fan of Eureka from its start. Good characters, good actors, good story lines and pretty decent CGI FX!
