That Giga is EPIC! It's going to be awesome alongside the Agustinia and it's slightly frightened pose! I can't wait! ;D

I received a quote from the pewter caster about doing the Microsaurs in metal. In order to make any money on them I'd need to charge around $40 for even the smallest one. Metal has skyrocketed in price as has manufacturing. So i will NOT be making these in pewter any time soon, if ever. Unless someone has a better solution I'll be sticking with plastic. I suppose I could always send it to China with a minimum order of 5000....not.

I think your fine in resin and plastic. Pewter can be soft and easily damaged if they fall anyway...steel or iron might be a diff story..but that would prob cost even more.

D hi david, I think an option could be this web: i.materialise.com Its similar to shapeways, but they have an apparently good resins. Its about double expensive than shapeways, but the price reduces a lot when you order many units. Ive never tried it, but looks cool

I could make all of these hollow to bring down the price. Can people live with a 3 mm hole in the belly?

I could make all of these hollow to bring down the price. Can people live with a 3 mm hole in the belly? Absolutely! I might bleed a little, but it wouldn't kill me. Wait, do you mean the models themselves? Again, no problem, easy to patch, and usually not even necessary. For the theropods, it would even be a good place to stick a support rod. ;D

That hole and hollowing could also be great if you do larger pieces..anything to bring down the cost..

Cool, I started to make some hollow last night. I can make the hole really small like I did in Alamosaurus, but if I make it bigger than customers can get them in any material at all, even SILVER! I loaded a hollow Agustinia last night and the price of the super detail material was only around $15! Regular material is under$10. The model is a little over 4" I recieved my first castings of a solid Agustina and Giganotosaurus this week but had to do some adjustments to the models as the little fingers and toes were too thin to print correctly. They should both be available for everyone this week, hollow.

The Next Shapeways microsaur... Ekrixinatosaurus. A freaky looking big headed abelisaur. This dinosaur is NOT 35 feet long as originally suggested, but its around 25. Let you all know when its available. D Attachments:

Wicked job on this one David. I always love seeing a carnivore with it's mouth shut, as they are too often depicted with open mouths. ;D

I never even heard of this guy! After looking him up, I see that he lived alongside Giganotosaurus and Agustinia, which makes perfect sense! I really love it, David. The idea of his mouth being shut like that, and his posture gives me a great idea for the scene buildup when I eventually send these off to Martin to be painted. I'll have the Giga about to bite the Agustinia while the Ekrixinatosaurus watches in the background, hoping to get some scraps! ;D

NEW MICROSAURS ARE NOW AVAILABLE HERE www.shapeways.com/shops/krentz I have printed and tested the following models. Giganotosaurus 1/144th Agustinia 1/144th Ekrixinatosaurus 1/144th AND 1/72 I have hollowed out all of these models so you can afford the vastly superior "Detail" materials. Hollowing has made most of these models in the detail material in the $10 range. Here are some crappy pics from my phone. -The group of Ekrixinotosaurus show two versions of 1/144th scale in the front row. Left is detail and right is WSF material. In the middle is 1/72 scale and the back is a test for 1/40. All these materials are White detail ( except the mentioned smaller one) and sadly it does not photograph well. Trust me though, the details are there. I have decided I'll do the 1/40 as a regular resin cast. Its just too expensive in this format. - Close up on Giganotosaurus - group shot of the South American dinos Giganotosaurus, Agustinia and Ekrixinatosaurus. Hope to get better pics soon. The South American Group shot. Candeleros Formation except Agustinia, which may have overlapped. I think Andesaurus would fit in nicely too. DK Attachments:

1/144th Scale Giganoto in White Detail material. I hope they come out with a grey detail material. These are really hard to photograph. When I make the models hollow its even worse, they are more translucent! HOWEVER, by making them hollow I've reduced the price in HALF! This guy is about the same volume as the solid T.rex ( in white detail $21) except his price in white detail is $11.95! Whohoooo! DK Attachments:
