In terms of artistry the Velociraptor is marvellous, but I think any such future creations should be given more feathers... Why?

..but still not entirely proven..so it's plausible and passable..for now anyway. Though I wouldn't mind if he had done it completely naked or entirely covered. ;D

Well...it is pretty much entirely proven. I mean, other dromaeosaurs have only ever been preserved with a full coat of feathers; Deinonychosauria is the sister clade to the avialians, and Velociraptor itself had quill nodes.
But it is still a nice model. Yes.

Wow, Martin, you sculpted that from scratch!? I am wondering why I am surprised by that at all, now that I think of it? That's fantastic! So, please stop doing work ups of kits that we all can buy (and ruin), and start making your own original sculptures. I say this partly to see inspiring new work from you, and partly to keep you from putting us all to shame on the kits!! Seriously dude, nice work.

Wonderful work.
Is the tail of the Cryolophosaurus smoothed? I have the same piece but the tail is much more unnatural twisted.

@ Zopteryx Yes, I make the bases myself. If you have a look at page 12, I have posted a 'step by step' of how I made a base for Shane Foulkes T.rex & Ankylosaurus
@ Griffin I thickened the neck of the Corythosaurus after reading Greg Paul's 'Field Guide to Dinosaurs' where he has reconstructed Hadrosaurs with thicker necks than previously thought. (I also did the same with Galileo's Daspletosaurus & Corythosaurus)
@ bfler Yes, I heated the tail up and straightened it out.

Greg Paul based that off of the mummified specimen of corythosaurus thats on display in the AMNH where there is skin between the neck and back. Thing is there is sking in other random places too off of the animals body. When animals decompose many times the skin shifts around especially with mummies (think how distorted some human mummies look). Most paleontologists don't go along with the thick neck look. The neck vertebrae of a lambiosaurine dinosaur wouldn't really support such a thick neck (think camel skeleton).
I in no way think your work is bad though its absolutely beautiful.

Hi Martin, this is John Naja. Your work is simply incredible & you are a huge inspiration for my dino modeling projects. The speed with which you finish projects is something I cannot match. One question, you stated that to straighten the Cryo's tail you heated it up? I find with these toys after heating the tails tend to revert back to their original shape, where am I going wrong?

I'm no expert on these things, but I think you're supposed to use cold water to keep the position or something.

Yeah you need to cool them down while holding in the position you want. Bad news is if they get hot enough they can revert back.
