Always liked WWD more than When Dinosaurs Roamed America - the animals in the latter always seemed that bit less convincing to me. They just bounce around more, and make more noise...

The WWD ones remain my favourites, though admittedly I haven't seen many others. Of the entire series, The Ballad of Big Al may possibly be the one I like best -- along with the Time of the Titans episode from the original series (as if that wasn't a painfully obvious thing to mention ;D). I've seen a few clips of something which I think was called Jurassic Fight Club, which (forgive me ) was an utterly loathesome travesty in every respect. It takes a great deal for me to make so severe a pronouncement, so that really is saying something.

Not a dino doc, but I really like Chased by Sea Monsters, simply because there is so much aquatic fauna showcased that we'd otherwise never see on a big or small screen.

If you like the Triassic reptiles, there is some great footage about the Ghost Ranch, NM fauna in the IMAX film from 2007, "Dinosaurs Alive."

WWD and the other "walking with's" are ceratinly my favorites, but Chased by Dinosaurs and Sea Monsters are close seconds. Prehistoric Park was nice, but a little too corny to be my favorite. Why isn't there a doc where scientists travels back in time with a film crew and they are generally scared/cautious of the environment around them; as I suspect they would be in life? On another note, I just saw a NatGeo doc on Terror Birds that I really liked.

Wow, "Clash of the Dinosaurs", for real? :s I must confess that is actually one of my very least favorite ever, not because of the digital work wich was truly superb but the documentary itself was so unwatchable... If it had been a 15 minutes doc with digital dinos only, it would have been a true masterpiece. Shame how they screwed it all so badly. My favorite ever was the documentary starred by Christopher Reeve with stop motion of Phil Tippet. It's on youtube. That was really really sweet. I have some good memories on WWD, probably more about "Big Al" than any other. I remember the Ornithocheirus tale too as one I specially liked. It was very dramatic. Some other episodes I didn't enjoy them so much, though. The "Truth about killer dinosaurs" was very enjoyable. There was some other docs from the 90's with some cartoons drawn in Bakker's style. I liked the cartoons, but I can't remember that much about the rest of the documentary, so I don't think the content was that good. But the cartoons were cool, the dinos moved and showed some attitudes never seen before in animation -as said, Bakker's theories and drawing style based-.

What's the name of the stop motion docu?
Edit: never mind - found it and giving it a watch.

Does 'Land Before Time' count as a documentary?

Back in the 90s there was this fantastic British documentary in four parts. Puh old - fashioned models, by today´s standards, but I loved them! Don´t remember the exact name anymore, but there was a book, too, by David Norman with a Deinonychus at the cover. That documentary, however, revived and confirmed my childhood dinosaur passion.

They're all great, but my personal all-time favorite is the Dinosaur program that was hosted by Christopher Reeve in the mid-'80s.

The documentary those were taken from (simply called Dinosaurs!) was one I watched religiously as a child. All the tapes of it were in the local video shop, and I borrowed them time and time again. The other big documentary of my childhood was a stop-motion one called Once upon Australia. I had an incomplete tape of it, which handily clipped out most of the dinosaur section. It does not appear to be on the internet aside from some clips the animator uploaded. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vLhjkZaZpwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=33KElmMfKtc&feature=related

My favorites are the older ones as well, the Christopher Reeves documentary is one of the first I recall seeing and the animated "Dinosaurs!" is among my favorites as well. I also enjoyed the "Paleoworld" series that used to be on TLC. For more recent documentaries Walking with Dinosaurs is also good, especially "Big Al" and I also enjoyed "When Dinosaurs Roamed America" and "Dinosaur Planet". "Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia" narrated by Donald Sutherland is a good one as well and yo should be able to find it on Hulu.
