Paleoferroequine asked: "My only question is that the eggs seem kinda big, don't they? Or is my monitor too big?" The eggs may look large relative to the size of the reptile, which is about 20 cm long. The oldest fossilized egg is Triassic, which is no help. We can compare the size of the eggs of modern geckos to that of the model of Hylonomus. Then for both reptiles, a snout-vent length of 10 cm would correlate with an egg diameter of 1.5 cm. Close enough. I should add that geckos have a small clutch size of only a few eggs. It's a pretty big stretch from stem-amniote to highly evolved lepidosaur. Fortunately, there is one other possibility; the eggs were likely softer and leathery--like may modern reptiles--so squeezing them out would not be as hard. And a larger egg would allow the hatchling to come out when much larger, and have a better chance of survival. Ok. Good enough. By the way, got my Shapeways order today for the Limnoscelis, Crassigyrinus, Pantylus. Ordered on the 21st and shipped on the 26th. Did you get yours yet, Sean?

No, if I'm lucky I'll have them Monday. I'm a little annoyed at how long it has taken, given the short amount of time everyone else seems to take--it took close to two weeks before they were even ready to ship!

Thank you, razh00, for rewarding us collectors for waiting 5 years for this model since the 375 MY-old fossil was described. Tiktaalik was a transitional form between fish and tetrapod; a fish with a neck and wrists. A good question for the SAT would be to name a fish of equal evolutionary significance to Archaeopteryx. I will be ordering this one as soon as it is available.

I have to say, that is a great book. And I will be eagerly awaiting the release of Tiktaalik as well.

Even considering that... I think you should reorientate it or the palm of the feet, until it looks more natural.

Thank you razh00 for this wonderful variety of vertebrates. To me a model of Odontochelys is like winning the lottery.
While looking at your Shapeways site, I noticed that you offer Hylonomus without eggs as a 6 cm size, and with eggs it is two parts: Hylonomus 7 cm 1/2 and Hylonomus 7 cm 2/2 (only eggs). It will be easier to paint as a two part model.

All right, I have been waiting for these, and my order is placed--so now the wait begins! Ten figures in all!
Of course, here in Canada a Postal Strike is looming, but they send via courier so it won't matter (the parcel from Mnemo, on the other hand...but I am pretty sure that any parcel I've sent out will be clear of the country by now).
