That's GREAT ! You def don't get sitting theropods anywhere near enough in any format. You know..to help sell the nest idea..maybe show where she has pulled back the top layer and the eggs are cracking..alligators and crocs do that and it feels like that's where you inspiration for this one is coming from. I would say you could also move further along and have the babies crawling around the ground on her..perhaps even have one in her mouth..to a baby croc that's safety not a place of danger...of course that might confuse some people too...as always just a few thoughts. ;D

Cool pose, absolutely! Does "on nest" mean, the layer beyond the Ceratosaur is the nest mount (she could break her eggs then!)? Or will you place a nest in the tail bow?

Hmm..crocs and gators don't break their eggs..so if that is indeed the whole nest it could alright.

Whoa, thanks for that great answer! Really didn´t know about that. Well, okay - then I´m convinced that it is Ceratosaurs nest.

No problem. I think the T-Rex in WWD made a similar nest as well..though I can't recall if she guarded by laying across it or anything. It's a really cool idea..and I really like sitting theropods.. ;D

I also like sitting theropods. Sitting makes them much more "human" in a way - they were not just the hunting, "cruel", bipedal beasts but also creatures that cared for their young and had sleep or take a rest now and then. A sleeping dinosaur figure would be an innovation, too Does anyone here have pics?!

Sitting, sleeping , laying..all are good choices I think. Makes something different for the collection as well. I know Malcolm had mentioned doing a laying down Allo to go with his pack Dio at some point. I couldn't find many pics of a sleeping dinosaur..but laying down or resting ones are more common : Here's one sleeping dino : I guess the problem with sleeping is it could just as easily be dead instead. ?

But for diorama/scene builders, is a a corpse (or even apparently ill) figure not also useful? And the difference should be in the eyes--generally, eyes open with death (or dry and disappear rapidly) while a sleeping dino should have it's eyes closed.

Aye, it could. I'm just offering a reason why most wouldn't. Really though the difference should be made obvious in a dead version..wounds, holes, empty eye sockets, ect..would all much better convey death that sleep. But if something had just curled up to sleep and then never woken..well that's a bit harder to show.

Any updates on this Malcolm? I mean, dude, you have unfairly teased me with a partially formed Ceratosaur and then just left me hanging!

When it comes to resting dinosaurs I would be weary of posing them like that iguanodont is with its legs to the side. Its much safer and probably more accurate to have them like the dilophosaurus, resting on the pubic bone like a modern bird. (Birds rarely rest on their sides) That being said what malcom already has sculpted with this ceratosaurus is fine.
