Hey guys, I've had this planned for a long while but just couldn't find the time to work on it until recently. It's actually based on the Carnegie Museum of Natural History's "large Oviraptorosaur" which may or may not be Chirostenotes, but for the sake of simplicity that is how I'll refer to it. A big thanks goes to Jason Bannister for letting me use his skeletals. Most of the basic anatomy is done, next it's on to feathering, posing, then zBrush for detailing.

Hey, excellent as always, Aaron ! I'm glad that you are continuing your dinosaur series. Can't wait for its release. And I've never seen a Chirostenotes model anywhere before. Is the Carnegie oviraptorosaur the same as the Triebold Paleontology specimen?

Looks great so far! Are you going to release it on shapeways? Thanks, I will be releasing it on shapeways. Now the trick is keeping costs reasonable because I really want to release this guy in 1:12 scale like my other dinos. I'll likely make a smaller one (like 1:20 or something) too, Hey, excellent as always, Aaron ! I'm glad that you are continuing your dinosaur series. Can't wait for its release. And I've never seen a Chirostenotes model anywhere before. Is the Carnegie oviraptorosaur the same as the Triebold Paleontology specimen? Thanks! Yeah it's the same as the Triebold specimen. I believe it is a composite made from two slightly different sized creatures, so I had to do a little creative scaling on some parts.

aaron, you have no idea how long i've been waiting to hear from you and i'm so glad you're continuing to make these amazing sculptures! hollowing the models helps to get the price down am i rght? i'd really like it too if you keep the 1:12 scale on this figure (even if the price ends up high, i'b be deifinitely ordering this.)

Hurra! It's great to have you back, Aaron! I love your models and I'm very excited about the new Chirostenotes. I'd love to have it in both scales: 1:12 and 1:20 ;D.

Very cool. Maybe I would do the primaries a bit longer (unless those are still the coverts)

Very nice. Great feather details. Will the feet and hands have a scaly texture?

Looks ready for upload to me! ;D I'll get it in WSF, anyways, so any more texture would probably not be visible in that material. What I didn't realize at first sight: No base this time? Okay, even better. We can still make our own custom bases if it won't stand but it I'd prefer mine without a base plate that's not removeable.

Thanks everyone. It's been hard to find the time to work on this but I'm really happy with how it is turning out. It should be available really soon. I still don't have a clue about cost, but it is very large compared to my other models about 7 inches tall and 9 inches long. I will hollow it out as best as I can without sacrificing stuctural strength, but it will still end up as the most expensive figure I've done in 12th scale. Thats why I plan on offering it in a smaller scale as well. What scales would everyone be interested in? What I didn't realize at first sight: No base this time? It'll have a base but I can make a baseless version available for those that want it. the sculpt is finished but I still have to do some optimizing and hollowing for the printing process.

Looks great. My only complaint would be that the primaries look like swords from the game runescape, instead of feathers
