Wait what? When was/is it being re-released in theaters? How come I was not informed? And it's not coming to the US? Why not? D:
I never got to see it in theaters but I rented/borrowed the VHS of it all the time for a year after it came out. I begged my parents to get it every chance I got. I've always wanted to see it in the theater but well, too young at the time. If it comes to the USA I will be there in the theater waiting for the thunderous roar of a T-Rex to shake the very seats. :3

Will it have MORE dinosaurs or deleted scenes? Because unless Spielberg pulled a "Lucas" and re-did it with more CGI, its not gonna interest me too much. Yeah, he replaced Bob Peck's shotgun with a walkie talkie... I've seen it quite a few times since 1993, mostly, it must be said, in 1994 when the video came out! I also own it on DVD. However, I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the cinema again - on a huge screen with amazing, loud sound.

Wow, I think I've got you all beat... I saw this thing 13 times when it was in the theaters! I'd always sit about third row center and after about the third or fourth time through, I'd stop watching and turn around to watch the rest of the audience jump when the "Raptor" jumps out of the piping at Ellie. Too much fun...
I haven't heard anything about a US release of this either, but I've got the trilogy on Blu-ray pre-ordered for when it comes out here at the end of the month... (The 25th, I think). Looking forward to all the inaccurate beasties in HD... ;-p

I finally went to see it today. It was a treat not to have seen it in over ten years. I had tears in my eyes at the appearance of the first brachiosaur, and I care not who knows it.

I've seen it three times these last two weeks. I think the scene that probably moved me the most was the sick Triceratops sequence.

I think my reactions basically mirrored those of Doctors Grant and Sattler (after all this time). I would have liked to have seen it twice myself, but other things got in the way, as usual. Today was the last showing at the BFI.

I feel a Crackington family excursion coming on!
The girls haven't seen it yet, so seeing it on the big screen will be brilliant for their dino education!.
I actually missed Jurassic Park on its first release and saw it a couple of years later in an independent cinema. This was great as you were allowed to take a beer in. My main memory is of a woman jumping out of her seat and grabbing hold of me when the raptor burst through the wall! Everybody also gasped when the raptor jumped up and nearly caught Laura Dern (I think)! Happy days!

They should not have made the sequels. Even if Michael Chrichton had written one for the novel. *Runs*

They should not have made the sequels. Even if Michael Chrichton had written one for the novel. *Runs* Why? Even if they don't compare to the original they're still good by dinosaur movie standards. It is not like we have enough dino-movies that we can afford to be all that picky.

Every time I see Jurassic Park I'm amazed by how good the kid actors are. They're like the only actors under the age of 18 who seem totally believable in their delivery of dialouge.
And as for the sequels...The Lost World at least attempted to be innovative and to find new ways to scare us. Plus while Nick Van Owen might be the least sympathetic protagonist ever, Pete Posthelwaithe as Roland Tembo was awesome.
Jurassic Park 3 was just dumb though. The dinosaurs were just constantly on rampage mode and the plot was absurd. It might as well have been, "Alan Grant returns to Jurassic Park after realizing he left his wallet there".

I loved the Lost World in 1997. When I was 9. Watching it back now, it's a real clunker of a movie - it takes ages to get going. Still, at least it continues taking things seriously. Unlike Jurassic Park 3, and its BLOODY TALKING RAPTORS. "They're smarter than primates! They're smarter than palaeontologists!"
The best thing to come out of the film was, without a doubt, Jurassic Pork 3. Yes, sometimes I stoop as low as YouTube poop.

I...
You know, sometimes I really worry for you, Marc...
What boggles me is that somebody had enough time on their hands to have made that. Almost as much as the fact that I have lost ten minutes to it. *Facepalm*

You actually watched it all!?! The joke was that the film was so bad, YouTube poop is actually better than it. Which was obviously a comic exaggeration, but yeah. Point stands.

I was going to stop at two minutes, but my sense of duty prevailed... To my detriment this time. *Facepalm again*

I got your joke, of course. Though how one can have stumbled upon that to begin with... And yes, you did succeed in getting me to watch the whole tripe bucket through. You know I would have. But please don't do that again.
