Is anyone else going to see Jurassic Park now that it's been re-released in the cinema? I am, as a matter of fact, going RIGHT NOW!
Squee! So excited. I've anticipated this day for like, 15 years.
So, anyone else going to see it?

I had no idea it was being re-released at all. But then I'm usually deaf and blind to the goings on of the media... -_-

If it comes to the U.S. I'll certainly go see it. When it originally came out I saw it three times, would be nice to add on a fourth all these years later.

It's not coming out to the US? Well that sucks. How strange.
Anyway, I saw it last night, and it was beyond epic. And just so loud! The first time the T.rex roared seemed to shake the theater.
I'm not particuarly into video technology so I don't have much appreciation for DVD VS Blu-Ray, HD VS non-HD, Digital VS non-Digital, but I've seen this film so many times I was really able to see the difference. The film just looked so clean and perfect.
And whether it was the digital technology or just the effect of seeing it on the big screen, I saw like, a hundred things in the background I'd never seen before. My two friends who have seen it similar amounts of time as me said the same thing. For instance, I noticed a sign near the rex paddock that says 'No Feeding' ;D
Also, watching this film with someone who has never seen it before really enhances the experience, because watching them cringe and scream helps you re-live the moment you first saw it.
Ahhh, bliss.

If it is in the U.S. I haven't seen or heard anything about it. I checked all the local features and found nothing. I'm more excited to see JP again than I am anything new coming out, your enthusiastic post doesn't help either.

I was about to complain that it doesn't seem to be showing in central London, but on further inspection, I find the BFI Imax is showing it! I think I should try to make it now...

I'm going to go and see it tomorrow. I'm very glad to hear that it's been spruced up and restored nicely.

The Brits are lucky bastards... My theory is they're using the UK as a test site for this re-release and will do the same thing worldwide at a later time if it proves successful enough.

The Brits are lucky bastards... We are in this regard but, trust me, we aren't in so many others...

I hope you're right. I initially thought it would be released in the U.S. without question...why not right? I even checked the show times for all the surrounding cities. Fingers crossed it will make its way here.

I must have watched that movie at least twice a year since I first saw it in 1993...probably more so after the initial VHS release. You'll be in for a real treat if it has been ten years since you last saw it, I'm kind of envious.

I think also, in those intervening years, whilst dinosaurs never went away, my interests had roamed in many other directions, so the opportunity hadn't really presented itself. I'm quite excited about seeing it now. ;D

I remember being so excited about seeing the movie as a kid that I collected beer and soda cans so I could recycle them and save up the money to watch it. After it's release my mom read some reviews and said it would be too frighting for me to watch. My father saw it and said I wouldn't like it because there weren't enough dinosaurs I was familiar with. Ultimately I prevailed and got to see it three times and I remember each time like it was yesterday. Needless to say both my parents were wrong, I loved it and it wasn't too scary though the dilophosaurus scene freaked me out a bit on the first viewing. I remember coming home after seeing it for the first time and running over to our pet Canada goose proclaiming it to be a dinosaur...that movie certainly made an impression on me. It would be great to re-live those days no matter how many times I've seen it since.

I may have seen it about three times on its first release too, Gwangi. I can't be sure, but I definitely saw it at least twice. I may just have to go too! You must!

Will it have MORE dinosaurs or deleted scenes? Because unless Spielberg pulled a "Lucas" and re-did it with more CGI, its not gonna interest me too much. I'll be waiting for the mythical JP4 to come out.....
(Don't get me wrong, seeing the original in a Cinedome in 1993 was a tour de force, and I saw it a couple more times after that, but now it would seem a bit ... old .... )
