Most depressing thing I've heard in a long time. My favorite man ever (excluding Jesus and relatives), the most brilliant story teller and writer the world has ever seen. What I respect him for the most: He helped to make the public aware that global warming is a hoax. Rest in peace, Mr. Crichton.

Global warming is a hoax. Lol.
And the fact that the planet is not in danger. I like that too.

He did a lot for us.
Don't argue with me. Most of us like dinosaurs because of JP. It's a proven fact. He brought in the REAL dinosaur renaissance in pop culture, like Colbert did 20 years before JP.
RIP, Michael Crichton. Thank you for giving us our dreams.

"So the planet will end then?"
Well, we will continue to loose species to the "advancement" our species, (AKA the massive destruction of vital habitats, pollution, ecosystem collapse, the complete over usage of natural resources leading to environmental crashes and things like empty forest syndrome, etc) that for some reason seems to insist on overpopulating an already taxed system by breeding like rats, and by all likelihood eventually end up with a planet that can not support a species (us) with the extensive need for resources and a stable environment that ours require.
What amazes me the most is how people could even TRY to pretend that this is not the case.
Oh yeah, thats right, this is expected because these are "the end times", and the saving hand of grace will pluck the true believers free from all this... *vomits*
(for the record, I loved JP, but I have loved dinosaurs from the time I was very young, so it has little to do with my collecting and passion for them)

(I am not arguing, I just didn't really understand)

"So did you mean that we will eventually run ourselves into extinction?"
Absolutely. Whether we "do it to ourselves" or just end up helping speed the process up, I am certain that is what lays in store for our species. I mean, everything is bound to go extinct eventually, but with our callous disregard for the systems we live on/with, and the lack of good environmental management/ethics behind that, as a species are really are working hard to push that button.
