;D Well, a while back when the weather was cold and rainy I started to play with repainting some figures. Last year I purchased a bag full of old invicta and Safari figures (and other ugly figures I have already discarded a long time ago) from my local Goodwill store for $4.00. The figures were badly scratched and paints peeling off. I kept a few to experiment with. So here is my first attempt at giving those old battered figures a new look. I started with the marine reptile since they are smaller and less intimidating and don't have skin folds. I will work on the Brachio, ceratops maybe in the winter. Hope you guys like it ;D [img src="http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p323/Bokichops/S7306833.jpg"

LOL ;D, Oh Tomhet, you should have seen the Liop's original spots, they were orange and so he really looked like a prehistoric swimming X-mas Tree! I covered it with a lighter blue/white and now he looks like he is covered in snow flakes ;D

Wow, you have extra Invictas that you can afford to paint, while I don't have a singe Invicta. Beautiful, though!

Wow, you have extra Invictas that you can afford to paint, while I don't have a singe Invicta. Beautiful, though! Thanks. Ok, you don't have any Invictas at all? None? You don't like them or? Invicta is the grand daddy of all the museum line The extra figures I painted came in a bag that I found in a Goodwill store a while back. Most of the figures were badly scratched, but hey, what do you expect when you pay $4.00 for the bag. So rather than discard them, I decided to give them new life as a repainted figures ;D Do you want a Invicta figure? Let me know, I maybe able to send you a T-rex or a glypto. Every collection have to have at least one Invicta ;D

I love Invictas, it's just every time I consider buying them there's something bigger and better I feel compelled to have. Things that have prohibited me from buying Invictas: Lot of 36 Carnegies, Rubik's 6x6 and 7x7, PV marine reptiles, Bullyland Deinotherium, Andrewsarchus, and Mastodonosaurus, etc. I may need to buy some, though.

LOL ;D Your choice of dinosaur figures of late have been rather expensive But we need to fix that, I will rummage and find you a T-rex or Glypto. They will not be in immaculate condition, but still very good. The thought of a collection not having any Invicta is just... not right

Or Bullyland, or Schleich, or.... My friend has an Invicta plesiosaur and Apatosaur, but no amount of money will entice him. He did just give me his Carnegie Caudipterex though... The reason they look a little like wood is because acryls are flat. Most figures have a slight sheen on them, which considering scales are shiny, may not be bad. I prefer flat, but you can spray them with a semi-gloss clear coat that will seal them. I have not tried this, so do not know how it would affect the piece if at all. The hard plastic of the older figures might also react differently to paint than this newer rubber stuff. Enamels do not ever dry on the new stuff, and the figure will remain forever tacky. I like the swimmers, they look nice. And plenty of marine life these days is very brightly colored, so why not?

I feel uncomfortable. -Walks away from sbell slowly- I'm sorry, I said I couldn't resist. It's a running joke from my former workplace--any opportunity to make one of the guys start crying with laughter by saying one simple word just couldn't be helped. It seeps into other conversations when the opporunity arises (go see the movie Horror at Party Beach for an idea of how it got inspired. Actually, don't it will hurt).

I am so impressed by your custom paint I am tempted to send you duplicates I have just to see what you can come up with ;D I am particularly interested to see what you can come up with with some of the Waiphoon figures (Stryraco,Stego and camara in particular). Hmmmm.... Maybe I should PM you and bribe you with some Invictas including the elasmo and T-rex and just maybe some schleich, too ;D
