Hi there--I haven't been collecting dinos for years, and I only own two sauropod toys:
an Invicta monochrome Apatosaurus
(don't shoot me) a Battat Diplodocus
but I really want more. Any suggestions? I envision a pretty good sized collection when all s said and done. Figuring I already have the Grail Figure, I should get her some pals.
I like both monochrome and painted.

Welcome, sauropodlet ;D Let me and TTL be your guide to the wonderful world of sauropod figures ;D Exhibit A: The Painted Invictas ;D  Exhibit B: CollectA/Procon (many unusual in this group). Agustina being a must! It's just weird looking with all of those spikes ;D  Exhibit C: Kaiyodos and the likes (small)  Exhibit D: Kinto figures.  Exhibit E: Various Brachis ;D  Exhibit F: Toyway What makes this particular figure interesting is that it is one of the few diplo that have dorsal spines. In addition, the location of these spines is a bit more inline to what the fossil records show  Exhibit G: Kabaya  Exhibit H: A Mixed herd ;D  Exhibit I: Mixed herd of Diplos from various company ;D  Exhibit J: View from above, see how much space you will need? ;D  Are we dizzy yet? ;D ;D And the verdict? This is what your collection will look like one day! ;D  Space is very important, these guys take ups soooooooo much room! ;D ;D ;D So I hope you enjoyed the tour. Well, start with the basic musuem lines for some pretty good standard sauropods.
-Carnegie
-Bullyland
-Schleich
-Battat
-Invicta
You can pretty much expect to get a brachiosaur, and apatosaur, and maybe a diplodocus in each of those lines, plus others.
Then branch off into smaller scaled lines
Procon
Wild Safari
Once you hit all those up then its up to you how far you want to go with it, and which direction you wish to take.
For smaller more retro figures Marx, MPC, Starlux are good.
Then you have your small figures that have high detail like Kayaido's
Theres also action figures that you can pick up like Jurassic Park and what not, and along those lines there are the gigantic Playskool Def. Dinosaurs and Dino-Riders.
Thats should give you a good start on Sauropods I belive. Sure theres some I missing, but those should be all the biggies

Aside from the Carnegie camarasaurus, I recommend the new Carnegie diplo, the Bully Apato, and both Kinto Favorite sauropods. I also like the Procon Delux agustina, it is quite striking. Um, also maybe the Carnegie Mamenchisaurus, and the Wild Safari Nigersaurus. The Nigersaurus is awesome. And of course, you can't go wrong with any of invicta's sauropods. The diplo is beauty itself.

Boki what is the big green one on the far left on the last picture? (His neck is right in front of the colored invicta mamen.) I dont recognize him, and he sort of favors a camarosaurus

*mopping up drool from Boki's post* Haha, I'll third or fourth all the recommendations for Carnegie's new Diplodocus, it's a beautiful figure and would compliment the Battat nicely. The Wild Safari Nigersaurus is a cutie too! If you'd like to expand on your Invicta collection, they also have their Brachiosaurus, Cetiosaurus, and Mammenchisaurus. Good luck!

Is this the one you are talking about: CollectA/Procon Amarga  and CollectA/Procon Rebbachi ( the first and only figure of it out)  If it is indeed the amarga you like, I believe I have duplicates. Perhaps I will check out my duplicates ( I like to keep them in pairs ;D) and will send you a "small" herd to start off you collection! ;D I will PM you later, ok? Cheers! ;D |
