No one mentioned it but the Carnegie one has an alternate that is less feathered for those interested...I bought both for a male/female pair. That one's been retired though, so it can be harder to get hold of.

I saw the Collecta one in person yesterday and was surprised by how much I liked it, it's a really neat little figure. Too bad I didn't have enough money for it though I could only get 4 procons haha

Ironically the 37.5% Carnegie is the only Ovi of these four that I do not have ;D.

I have to go with the Papo on this purely because it doesn't look so much like a deranged turkey as any of the others ;D Shame about the egg though!

Indeed, otherwise what was the point behind this? I can't see why a scaly oviraptor would need to brood it's eggs in this manner.

Wow, I can hardly see the eggs for the mass of fossilised feathers ;D Only another 165 mil years before someone finds a fossilised Alligator on a nest and deduces that it too was feathered to the eyeballs ;D

Ah not this again.... I will say that feathers don't fossilise, they merely live impressions...as do scales.

Wow, I can hardly see the eggs for the mass of fossilised feathers ;D I'm not seeing fossilized scales either. Because everything about that brooding oviraptor and nest arrangement scream alligator and not bird.

Wow, I can hardly see the eggs for the mass of fossilised feathers ;D Caudipteryx is a primitive member of the group Oviraptorosauria, and much older than the nesting Citipati of the picture. It had primary feathers on its arms, forming a small "wing", a fan of feathers on the tip of its tail, and downy feathers over its body. All preserved on the fossils.

Oh, but I think it was far handsomer than a turkey, deranged or otherwise. More like a secretary bird, for instance. ;D I'm hoping whenever Carnegie/Safari re-approaches their feathered dinosaurs, they might become more regal and less 'startled'.

Personally I think turkeys are quite handsome, any time I see a flock of them I immediately think "dinosaur", I don't take the comparison as an insult. Tell me this guy isn't beautiful. For something different check out the ocellated turkey.
