What? So only rare and unobtainable figs are fun? That makes no sense at all.....
The new WS and Carnegie are accurate and cool, and easily had. Are they not "fun" for you anymore? It seems , based on many of your comments, that it is more about the rareness than anything else for you. Tha't's a shame.

I went to the AMNH today and picked up a Carnegie Iguanodon. I like the new paint job on this a lot better than the old one. Its less sloppy and the colors are more earthy. Fits the dino well. Its also fun.

Coloratas seem to be a dime a dozen now. I know, they aren't really, they are much more expensive than that, but... Last year they almost seemed mythical in their rareness... Now it seems everybody's got some! ^ | I find this sort of attitude lame.

Unlike Kaiyodos, which require a large magnifying lens to view and enjoy. I intend to mount my Colorata's with their boxes, on a shelf just above my PC screen - close enough to get my daily fix whenever I look up! Do you think our issues with Kaiyodo's may have something to do with our age and eyesight Bucketfoot? ;D

Well, I aint old like you guys, but I aint young, and I can see and like the Kaiyodos just fine. I like them quite a lot, but do feel they are somewhat over-hyped, likely do to their rare status over here. They are not something you can just pick up in a store here, for the most part. I guess by Cordy's logic, that would make them fun, and more enjoyable, except many of you cretins have gone and bought some, spoiling it for us elitists.....jk. ;D

My first ones from series 2 came from the year they were released, and I picked them up when they were released every year after that from sources in Japan. My point? None. But now that people can find them on Ebay somewhat easily, I know I don't appreciate their details and paint schemes anymore. It's just not the same if the unwashed poseurs can get them too. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D sarcasm folks. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Just making sure that people know

Despite the fact that my Dinotales are among my favourites, there is no denying this--I have several doubles because of replacing broken figures with unbroken ones (stupid Meganeura...Xenacanthus...blue Cladoselache...). Starlux falls in this too (2 Platybelodon, both with broken tails? Dammit).

I got these two from Franchesca. But first - a sad tale. The good old green rex was immaculate when it arrived. However, the 'anniversary' rex had taken a real battering in its journey over the Atlantic and had huge paint scars. I saw the bright side of this, however, as it was my chance to try 'fixing' a figure for the first time. I'd been afraid to before due to my cack-handedness with a brush. Anyway, I went out and bought the right paints from Ruddocks of Lincoln and here he is. Turned out quite well I think, although it might've been cheaper to buy a new one on mail order. Still, I had some geeky fun painting!

nice t-rexen the green one,,is that carnegie?? The green one is the old Carnegie, still available in America I think. It's the one with the revised head which is rather hard to find over here.

Unfortunately I only ever saw it in a magazine. Seems it wasn't released in all territories... Oh, and do show us pics of Robo-Ken, if you really go ahead with it...

Most JP toys weren't released worldwide. Most were just released in the US, with the really really REALLY common ones spilling over into europe- But there are some exceptions, there were some rare carnotaurs shipped over to europe along with some other JPS2 figures.

I thought you already had one of those stoneage...? No I didn't have one. That's the last one I needed. I now have all the painted and unpainted invictas. I have all the Laramie ones also which are based on Invictas. Hopefully I will get good pictures of all this.

Do you really have the painted blue whale? Was there ever such a thing? It must be rarer than reverse-engineered hen's teeth.
