KRISSY: I myself am a long-time comic reader and I own the first issue and I must say imo it's pretty mediocre. I don't like anything about it but the cover. -- If you want some really really good dino comics, why don't you try AGE OF REPTILES by Ricardo Delgado? BOKI: those extincts are simply lovable. -- I envy you for those SRGs. -- And the hesperornis picture is simply delicious. LIBRA: Mattel did that?? What is that, what collection??

Ah, now that I do like, probably the one comic I do enjoy. I own the T.rex VS raptor one, still have yet to find the Allosaur and Ceratosaur one for a sane price. They're totally fanciful but great fun. And the lack of dialogue actually makes it easier for me to understand. Anyway, I just got the 2nd issue of JP Redemption today, and....yeah. Every page is just OM NOM NOM GORE CRUNCH CHOMP SNAP SWALLOW OM NOM. Seriously, what's up with this Carnotaurus? He's eaten like 3 times his own body weight in 48 hours.

Just now got my copy of the Holtz/Rey book. Hurrah. I have an immense deal of respect for Mr Rey, but his neon schemes for dinosaur colours (who was it who described them as akin to an acid trip on the DT blog?) can be rather a challenge sometimes. ;D

I didn't describe his colour schemes as 'like an acid trip' as such - I meant that some people dislike dinosaur models so bright that they resemble something Luis Rey might see while on an acid trip. Yeah. Although that's still implying that Luis Rey conjures up bright dinosaurs to begin with. I'll admit that sometimes he goes a bit too far for my tastes, but a lot of his stuff is very, very refreshing indeed. Overall I'm a big fan.

I like most of his color schemes he comes up with. The zebra-therizinosaurs were awesome, as was the electric blue baryonyx.

The only ones I don't really like involve slapping bright pink on rather large animals... Without a doubt his feathered dinosaurs are the best. He also puts real personality into each portrait - I'm looking now at the Gorgosaurus on page 125...and he's looking at me!

Wow, those amphibians are awesome! Is that set still on available, or has it already been retired? Can I find it on Ebay if I'm lucky?

Luis Rey is Spanish, and the bright colors he uses are a heritage of Spanish style art.

I volunteer! Is the Invicta Troodon valuable then? Because I've had one for like....years, since I was about 6. Still got it somewhere.

It's the rarest Invicta, because it was taken off the market soon after its release due to copyright issues. It can go for around $100 these days.
