Here's a painted version: Considering it's the first of its kind, not too bad. Kudos to Invicta for making one. Unfortunately the scale (1:10?) makes it unposeable with most other other figures.

Nice but shame about the painted one. Painting an invicta aint that blasphemous?

I didn't describe his colour schemes as 'like an acid trip' as such - I meant that some people dislike dinosaur models so bright that they resemble something Luis Rey might see while on an acid trip. Yeah. Although that's still implying that Luis Rey conjures up bright dinosaurs to begin with. I'll admit that sometimes he goes a bit too far for my tastes, but a lot of his stuff is very, very refreshing indeed. Overall I'm a big fan. Oh, it was you, then, hehe. No I understand, I didn't mean that you actually said it in those very words, I was just trying to recall the metaphor. ;D And yes, as I mentioned, I like his work very much and have no dislike of bright colours; just that occasionally, Rey's can tend rather far towards fluorescence and acidity, which I think might sometimes be more suggestive of artifice than nature. But as Dinolord pointed out, these are heavily influenced by his own aesthetics as much as anything else.

Did they use the artists work without agreement etc?

Did they use the artists work without agreement etc? There are a couple oddities about it--it is the only one with a separate, moulded base; and it is the only one with another company name on the base. Although the reason isn't clear, it appears that it is the involvement of this second company that caused the issues.

Recently I got the feeling the Invicta Dimetrodon is rarer than the Troodon. I've seen much more Troodons on Ebay than Dimetrodons, and I paid more for my Dimetrodon (after searching about a year for it) than for my Troodon. I'm starting to think the Troodon is overrated in rarity, also thanks to this picture:

That picture gives me the creeps. To which I am tempted to add, "It's like they're not scared"...

Yeah, that Troodon has an awful dead looking pair of eyes. 7 of them together look kinda zombie-esque...

It's from little dinosaur museum. Over at JPToys all the europieans got together and went on one big dinosaur trip, and they went to a museum where there were many invicta dinosaurs out to be played with (not for sale, though).

That's right. And it just had to happen on the second day of the gathering, at which I wasn't present. JPtoys member Dutchallosaur managed to talk her way into getting on of these 7 figures for a mere 3 euros though. As for that quote, it's from Spielberg's TLW. Stark's comment on a Compy.

Great Carnegie purchases. Some of the best in the collection. How many do you have now, out of interest? Would be great to see photos of them all together. Hinty hint hint.
