Hey David, I was questioning why you didn't use Horner's keratin head hypothesis as you did in Dinosaur Revolution with the Triceratops?

Looks like Jack finally hitched up with Tinkerbelle. Poor Stumpy. no one will ever make him because no one wants to snap an arm off of their rex toys.
I loaded a 1/72 Kosmo on Shapeways last night. The model went through inspection, so now I have to wait and see if it can print. If so I'll put on other scales. I'll load Bistaheiversor tonight too and then do the waiting game.
my question to you all is this. If I created some stock Antediluvia bases (that fight in with the rest of the series) on Shapeways that could be matched with different sized 1/72 would anyone order them? I imagine they would cost about $ 6-12 depending on the size. Or, for animals that can't stand on their own, like Bistaheiversor, I could just put a simple cheap, thin base as part of the model.

Awwwww! David, the Jack and Tinkerbelle look great on their little model base.
And the Kosmo, crossing my fingers on that one. I like the idea of the stock bases.

Hey David, I was questioning why you didn't use Horner's keratin head hypothesis as you did in Dinosaur Revolution with the Triceratops? I think the keratin head is a great idea, and Horner almost had me convinced, but after talking to Sampson and Farke I went back on the fence again. Regardless, its always good, in my opinion, to show a few possibilities as long as its within reason. Unless the Trike mummy shows no scale texture on the face, besides the beak, I'm pretty sure it doesn't. You'd be amazed at how undogmatic many Paleos are. Even the most published will often say " well, could have been that way, we may never know".

Well, it was supposed to be Stumpy and his mate together before he lost his arm - because yes, I didn't have the heart to see a Krentz model get dismembered. Or do the colors just look too much like Jack's? If so, I will invent a new backstory for myself.

Jack is more Reddish browns and blacks he has bright red chest and arm pits for display Stumpy is more neutral with whites, grey and blacks. He too has a reddish chest but not as bright as jack. Tink is more neutral brown and does not have such a strong skullface. I'll dig out some renders for all of you to see, as I see that there is a desire to do them correctly- which of course is really awesome! F

Love "Jane" but would never settle for anything smaller that 1/18 and preferably 1/10, mate. Spike.

Kosmo´s nice too, loads of expression without being kitsch. Too tiny for my cabinets, though. Spike.

I pretty sure the sub-adult "Jr" was Jane. Jack is Sue, TInk is AMNH, and Stumpy is Stan.

I simply love the T. Rex models! Getting to see all the differences in texture, model, and color with such high quality pictures is just fascinating.
I'm also really intrigued that you guys used specific T. Rex specimens for the bases of the individual characters. I live really close to Chicago, and I think it's so cool that Jack is based off of Sue!
I honestly can't believe that you guys produced such an astounding show both story and visual-wise (with limited time and budget), and then bothered to create so many of what I honestly consider to be the most realistic dinosaurs I've ever seen in my life. Again, I love what you and all the other talented people did to create this show and I can't wait to see some more models from it!
BTW, I've also got a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. First off, do you happen to have any completed models that weren't used for the show like things from the deleted Therizinosaurus story a lot of us have heard of? And could we please see them if you do? And also, could we get a little heads up as to what we may be getting to see next?

Krentz, Just a quick question regarding the Allosaurus model, was it simply an artistic touch for the spiky-tailed Allosaur in Deadwood? It was the only theropod with the spiky tail and I've always wondered about it.
