Hi everyone( and a happy new year also ;D), I wanted to show you my new finished sculpt. As some of you who looked at my other threads may know, me and my brother share our interest in creative art and in dinosaurs. When I started with sculpting a year ago, I never thought about making something different than a dinosaur, because the beauty that these animals show is absolutely outstanding.
So I made some smaller full body sculpts, but now I decided to do a head bust because I could show more details in this way.I chose dilophosaurus for this project and finished the sculpt in 80 hours of work.My brother made a head bust of eocarcharia in the last weeks too, so now that both are finished I wanted to show the pictures to you.
First is the dilopho:
The sculpt was made with epoxy after I cut the skull out of styrofoam. I wanted to have a realistic look, so I bought artificial eyes from a shop that normally sells to taxidermists(is this the right english word? ).
I gave him a lot of spikes, I don`t know if this is realistic, but I wanted many details and I like to overstyle my work a bit so that it looks cool.
The whole sculpt is about 14 inches long.
Here is the eocarcharia:
As I know not much is found from this dinosaurs skull, so my brother could be creative.
This sculpt was made the same way as the dilopho, a styrofoam skull overlayed by epoxy and with many scales.
Here is a picture showing both together, so you can see the eo is a little bigger with 16 inches(sorry that I don`t know the exact scale of them):
some different lighting:
As I saw them the first time looking at each other I thought it looks really cool.
I hope that some of you like our sculpts too, so it would be great to see some comments. Thanks for watching the pics and I hope to show you another sculpt in some months.
