If it actually does come out, I kind of expect that it would obviously be based off the original JP Brachiosaurus..... Or it could be based on the JP III Brachiosaurus, in which case it likely would fail... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Anyway, let's not talk of failure until we see pics, if the rumours prove to be true (which I certainly wouldn't mind! ;D).

So let me get this straight. Papo is supposedly releasing a repainted version of the original T-Rex and a Brachiosaurus, in addition to the Tylosaurus and new T-Rex? ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) That's what I meant, of course, if the info is not just rumor or misunderstanding. At least, the new PAPO Trex is not a fake... I have one ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

He lives in France, so he usually gets them before everyone else. First to get the Papo Styrac, if I remember correctly. But where are your beautiful photos?

Looking at the pictures of the new T-Rex papo I seem to have used many parts of the Allosaurus ... Nothing negative about this but perhaps this choice was more just the last year and this year has brought a little bit too much damage to the t-rex, making it difficult to buy (especially hands too long).

They may be similar in style, likely on purpose. But the Rex is much larger than the allo. It's not "damage", for whatever reasons, it looks like that because they want it to.

I don't think he meant 'damage' literally (as in physical damage) - I think he meant damage to people's perception of it (with reference to the over-long arms).

Do any of you know. Do they "test market" these things? let kids play with and comment on them before final production, or get any sort of feedback? Maybe, if it tests strong enough amongst kids and "normal" folk, then that is where they focus. It is a business after all...

I like it better than the Kosmoceratops in terms of the overall paint job and sculpting.

And I think Papo's prices are pretty fair, especially for their sculpt details. They're pretty close to Carnegie prices. The smaller Papo's tend to be a little more. For ex: Papo's "Anky" is $12.99 at the store I shop at and Carnegie's Anky is $8.99. BUT, the larger Papo figures seem to be fairly comparable to Carnegie and some are even less. Ex: Carnegie's Spino is $29.99 and Papo's is $19.99! Interesting. I really can't picture the Papo Brachiosaurus selling for under $29, especially if they choose to deliver a non-gimped Brachio w/ considerable heft (It should be larger than their Spinosaurus, no?).

Yeah, I agree- that's generally the case with predictions. Assuming that Papo is still in the market 10 years from now, they would (certainly) release some more obscure varieties (currently, they have three relatively "obscure" models in their prehistoric line, Pachyrhinosaurus, Oviraptor, and Tylosaurus) because they would have exhausted their choices of "common dinosaurs" by then. Even if they were brave enough to actually call this so-called forthcoming Brachiosaurus a Giraffititan, that would be something (ironically, the people that might appreciate such a thing may be the exact opposite of the people that are the biggest fans of Papo ;D). Lol. I agree. Even if Papo had the most accurate Giraffitan on the market, they would still be adamant about labeling it as "Brachiosaurus".

I like it better than the Kosmoceratops in terms of the overall paint job and sculpting. The color scheme is an improvement but I really think the kosmo is much less awkward with regards to sculpt.
